Great bed and breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is fairly central. There are two subway stations within a 10-15 minute walk and most major attractions are a quick cab ride away. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. They do everything possible to ensure that you have an enjoyable stay. For instance, I had my camera stolen on the subway and one of them helped me figure out how to get a police report accompanied me to the station for over an hour to act as an interpreter.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Palermitano for three nights in early May. We could not have been happier. The location and the hotel itself were great. Not to mention that Lorena and Andrea went above and beyond to help us get around the city. The breakfast was great (pastries, fruit, bread, coffee, and real orange juice). Our room was pretty big and clean.

I highly recommend this B&B if you really want to experience Buenos Aires. I would stay here again and again.

Gracias Lorena y Andrea...se pasaron! Saludos a Lucas :)

We were lucky enough to spend 12 days at Casa Palermitano in late March - early April. There were 3 of us, and Lorena thoughtfully gave us adjoining rooms. The rooms were very comfortable, with high ceilings, polished wooden floors, decorator bathrooms, and sheets especially selected to go with the color scheme of each room. Breakfasts consisted of delicious fresh bread and pastries, and a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit, plus juice and tea or coffee. Lorena and Andrea were excellent hostesses, very knowledgeable about restaurants, bus routes, tango shows, and which taxis you should flag down on the street. They are ably assisted by Norma, who fixes breakfast, cleans your room, and adds her own charm to your stay. Casa Palermitano is not in the trendiest part of Palermo, but the neighborhood feels safe and you can get to other parts of the city easily via bus, "subte," taxi, or on foot. Neighborhood businesses are more than adequate to fulfill your coffee, grocery, or supermarket needs, including excellent selections of Argentine wines. Lorena recommended a taxi driver, Jorge, whom we used several times because he was reliable, courteous, and honest. Our stay there was so long that we came to feel like members of the family, especially when Lorena's parents came for a visit. We made empanadas together one night, using Andrea's mother's recipes, and then enjoyed them in the patio with several bottles of Argentine wine. One warning: if you change money at the change booth located in the bottom floor of the Abasto shopping center, count your change carefully before leaving the window. We were shortchanged one time, and a few days later another person staying at Casa Palermitano had the same experience -- only we had warned her, so she knew enough to count her change before putting it away and leaving the change booth. (They grudgingly gave her the rest of her money.) From our standpoint, you couldn't find homier or more comfortable accommodations, nor friendlier or more helpful hostesses, anywhere in Buenos Aires.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a B&B for our 10 day stay at Buenos Aires. Having looked though the reviews at Trip Advisor we decided to give Casa Palermitano a try and we were quite pleased.

As other reviewers mentioned, the staff there are very helpful, always willing to help out with tourist information and they're always looking out for you. You really feel like you're staying at a friend or a relative's house.

Although the house isn't that close to the tourist center, transportation is pretty easy; a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest subway station and from then on 10-15 minutes to get to the tourist center. There are also several bus stops a few meters from the house.

It was evident that the room in which we stayed in was recently refurbished. Particularly the bathroom was like new, a critical point for us since we're both easily disgusted (discarded many B&Bs because of shared or out of the room bathrooms). The room is clean and the heater was very helpful for the very low temperatures in BA when we stayed. The room was nicely made every day and breakfast was very good, particularly the freshly squeezed orange juice and the "facturas".

So to sum it up, we were very pleased with our stay; prices were actually lower than those of other B&Bs we were considering at first, service was great, the rooms were exactly what we needed and the location is pretty good. Will recommend to all those traveling to BA.

We stayed 3 nights at Casa Palermitano in May - saw the reviews on trip advisor and hoped it would live up to its reputation - it did! Lorena and Andrea (and Lucas the parrot!) are great hosts. The B&B is very comfortable (great beds) and nicely decorated - its not the Hilton of course - so if you are looking for 5 star luxury go elsewhere - but you will pay for it! This B&B is excellent value for money and everything you need is there - including a great breakfast!

Lorena went well beyond the call of duty to help out with recommendations for restaurants in the area - we are real foodies (can you tell by the username?!) and so wanted to try good local places - Lorena recommended Cielo Linda - which was a fab mexican place nearby and a great place to eat. Lorena also helped us by booking football tickets and when we needed to come back to BA and her B&B was booked, she helpfully recommended another B&B (Mansilla 3935- see separate review) which also turned out to be a great place to stay.

For a great value place to stay either Casa Palermitano or Mansilla 3935 are great, dont think you could go wrong at either one, though thanks to Lorena's helpfulness I think if its your first time in BA/Argentina stay at Casa P to get a really great introduction to things to do/see.

Thanks Lorena for making our stay in BA so wonderful!

  • Liked — The helpful staff, comfortable beds, historic characterful building
  • Disliked — not as central to Palermo as some other B&B's however you can easily walk there in 15 mins
