This was our first visit to South America from South Africa and we spent a wonderful 6 days at Casa Palmeritano as part of our honeymoon. My husband booked us here after seeing the high ratings on this site. It did not disappoint!

Lorena is everything everyone has reported her to be. She is invested, available, friendly and helpful. She assisted with everything from translation to entertainment. We soon felt we were home from home and didn't want to leave!! The breakfasts, served up by Norma, were sociable, delicious and far superior to those we had elsewhere in Argentina, at a similar cost level.

Being near to a central bus route made this a wonderful jumping-off point from which to explore this surprising, amazing, vibrant city. Having free on site access to a computer with fast internet connection was an added bonus.

Lorena made our honeymoon stay extra special and we hope we will be able to return as we are hooked on Casa Palmeritano and Buenos Aires...

We stayed at Casa Palermitano for 7 days in total making it our base when travelling around Argentina and Brazil. We had a wonderful experience here - the rooms were clean, breakfast was yummy with freshly squeezed arange juice, lots of information and guidance given by Lorena (owner) herself. We also met lots of other travellers and shared travel tips over medialunas and dulce de leche. Lorena recommended great and affordable restaurants that we truly enjoyed. We also chat with her and Norma and Andrea all the time and learn so much more about Argentina that if we did staying in a hotel. In the end, they became our friends.

Not sure what else to write except that you got to experience it yourself to know why I find them great.

I recently returned from a trip to Argentina, which included four wonderful nights at Casa Palermitano. The bed and breakfast came highly recommended by a friend who had stayed there last February. It did not disappoint! I first met Lorena, the innkeeper, and visited the Casa during my friend’s stay. Lorena was extremely patient and accommodating as I called various times to get in touch with my friend. When I later contacted Lorena to make reservations for another visit to Buenos Aires in late July, she remembered me and facilitated all of my requests and shifting travel arrangements with much ease and speed. When we arrived, she made us feel more like friends than simple guests, while always maintaining her professionalism. She personally attended to all of our needs and questions ranging from recommendations for restaurants, shopping, laundry, transportation and generally preserving that “at-home” feeling during our stay. She and her staff were consistently friendly and utterly professional.

The property is a charming converted house whose rooms provide an intimate familial setting while also maintaining a satisfying amount of privacy. It was very quiet and peaceful and Lorena went out of her way to tastefully and comfortably set up an additional bed in the room to accommodate my family. In addition to the nice rooms, the breakfast was truly charming and delicious including freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries and eggs made to order. The communal dining room provided an inviting site to meet and converse with other guests, who were both mature and wonderfully diverse.

Beyond the hospitality of Lorena and her staff and the charm of the property, the rates are incredibly reasonable. I looked at numerous bed and breakfasts in the Palermo neighborhood and the price for quality ratio at Casa Palermitano most likely cannot be beat. It is close to the touristy area of Palermo without being in the chaotic middle of it and close to all forms of transportation with which to move around the city.

I would recommend this bed and breakfast without reservation to anyone traveling to Buenos Aires. I cannot wait to return!

Loreno and her team were excellent hostesses ... They made our family with 2 young children feel at home, even suggested taking the bus into town as a fun activity (yet cheap and convenient) and were always willing to give us suggestions, answer our questions and assist with reservation of restaurants. La Cabrera restaurant was an excellent suggestion, for fine argentinian steak and chorizo sausages ... large portions.

The property is a house with charming character. Bathrooms have been recently re-modelled. Environment is casual and there is internet and wireless facility.

Breakfast was yummy, with fresh pastries and freshly squeezed juice every morning. Also, servings of ham and cheese, and wonderful selection of jams and dulce de leche (sweet mik spread).

My wife and I arrived at the Casa Palermitano for a 3-night stay with a tiny bit of excess "baggage"--a painful wood splinter in the ball of my right foot . It was obvious we had come to the right place when Lorena, our hostess, promptly arranged for a physician to do the extraction on site so that we could carry on with our plans for seeing the city. Lorena was also helpful in booking our passage for a trip to Colonia, Uruguay, and in providing directions for public and private transportation to places we wanted to see. We met interesting people at the ample breakfasts served each morning--including a couple from Belgium in Buenos Aires for the Tango Dance Championship competition. Our room had a newly remodeled private bathroom and a modern heater/air conditioner that allowed precise setting of the temperature. A bonus is the availability of a computer with internet access in the living room.
It was a good stay for us.
