I recently returned from a trip to Argentina, which included four wonderful nights at Casa Palermitano. The bed and breakfast came highly recommended by a friend who had stayed there last February. It did not disappoint! I first met Lorena, the innkeeper, and visited the Casa during my friend’s stay. Lorena was extremely patient and accommodating as I called various times to get in touch with my friend. When I later contacted Lorena to make reservations for another visit to Buenos Aires in late July, she remembered me and facilitated all of my requests and shifting travel arrangements with much ease and speed. When we arrived, she made us feel more like friends than simple guests, while always maintaining her professionalism. She personally attended to all of our needs and questions ranging from recommendations for restaurants, shopping, laundry, transportation and generally preserving that “at-home” feeling during our stay. She and her staff were consistently friendly and utterly professional.
The property is a charming converted house whose rooms provide an intimate familial setting while also maintaining a satisfying amount of privacy. It was very quiet and peaceful and Lorena went out of her way to tastefully and comfortably set up an additional bed in the room to accommodate my family. In addition to the nice rooms, the breakfast was truly charming and delicious including freshly squeezed orange juice, pastries and eggs made to order. The communal dining room provided an inviting site to meet and converse with other guests, who were both mature and wonderfully diverse.
Beyond the hospitality of Lorena and her staff and the charm of the property, the rates are incredibly reasonable. I looked at numerous bed and breakfasts in the Palermo neighborhood and the price for quality ratio at Casa Palermitano most likely cannot be beat. It is close to the touristy area of Palermo without being in the chaotic middle of it and close to all forms of transportation with which to move around the city.
I would recommend this bed and breakfast without reservation to anyone traveling to Buenos Aires. I cannot wait to return!
