My husband and I spent three nights at Palermo 1551 and loved it. Choosing this hotel was one of the high points of our trip. The hotel is an old historical home decorated in great taste, rustic chic, very cosy. The garden is delightful, hearty breakfast with delicious media-lunas and great coffee, wonderful and relaxed atmosphere and good location (about 7 blocks from bubbly Honduras Plaza Cortazar, with tons of bars and trendy shops). The owners are very nice and helpful. Book the Garden Suite for a perfect romantic getaway, you won't regret it.

Staying at 1551 Palermo was one of the most pleasant experiences I've had at a hotel, and I've traveled a lot. Not only is it one of the most attractive boutique hotels I saw in Buenos Aires, and being an artist I visited most of the top ones there, but it can stand its ground compared to any elsewhere as well. All the staff were exceptional in their pleasantness and help, and their personal care and concern made it a very warm and personal stay. I highly recommend this great find.

I've stayed in 1551 Palermo for 4 nights... there where beautifull!! I stayed in the Luxury Master Suite... amazing! Really luxurious suite with everything. The staff is helpful and friendly.. making our stay perfect, helping with all our needs. It's a family run hotel.. you fill like at home. Beautifull pool in a quiet area 5 blocks away from Palermo centre. I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Spent 4 nights at this Palermo SoHo Hotel. We (my husband, adult daughter and I) were booked in the Urban Apartment, a two bedroom/
one bath located at the front of the hotel below street level (picture a basement type apartment). As a result, the bedroom on the street side was extremely noisy due to traffic, early morning construction in the area and a window that did not close completely.
No A/C in that room, but we were provided with a floor fan. After one sleepless night, our daughter moved one twin bed from that room into our larger, more quiet, A/C rear room for the duration of our stay. We shared the bath which was small and had no ventilation. Both bedrooms and bath were very clean however.

The common rooms are very pleasant, clean and comfortable. There is a garden and a pool at the rear of the property and it is well maintained. Breakfast was simple but adequate for us.

The staff is young, friendly and helpful especially Maia who assisted us with setting up a city tour, making dinner reservations, mapping out the "best" shopping and calling for taxis when needed. The Palermo area is walkable and safer than other areas in B A however we did use taxis at night which are plentiful and inexpensive. Prebooked transportation to/from the airport through the hotel for 25USD one way.

This hotel opened in September 2006 and we felt it was still
"getting organized" at times. No doubt, in time, it will be one of the more popular accommodations in SoHo!

If you're young of heart and friendly you will get on just fine in this family run boutique hotel. They could not have been more friendly or helpful. Situated in trendy Palermo (5/10min walk, via funky houses, to Palermo's rests/bars), the quiet hotel has been designed to look like somebody's home. It only has 7/8 rooms, designed innovatively and imaginately, and a pool to chill in. Can highly recommend.

  • Liked — The funky rooms and the family who run it.
  • Disliked — Nothing!
