Spent 4 nights at this Palermo SoHo Hotel. We (my husband, adult daughter and I) were booked in the Urban Apartment, a two bedroom/
one bath located at the front of the hotel below street level (picture a basement type apartment). As a result, the bedroom on the street side was extremely noisy due to traffic, early morning construction in the area and a window that did not close completely.
No A/C in that room, but we were provided with a floor fan. After one sleepless night, our daughter moved one twin bed from that room into our larger, more quiet, A/C rear room for the duration of our stay. We shared the bath which was small and had no ventilation. Both bedrooms and bath were very clean however.
The common rooms are very pleasant, clean and comfortable. There is a garden and a pool at the rear of the property and it is well maintained. Breakfast was simple but adequate for us.
The staff is young, friendly and helpful especially Maia who assisted us with setting up a city tour, making dinner reservations, mapping out the "best" shopping and calling for taxis when needed. The Palermo area is walkable and safer than other areas in B A however we did use taxis at night which are plentiful and inexpensive. Prebooked transportation to/from the airport through the hotel for 25USD one way.
This hotel opened in September 2006 and we felt it was still
"getting organized" at times. No doubt, in time, it will be one of the more popular accommodations in SoHo!
