My family stayed at Posada Palermo for 8 days in November 2007. We had a wonderful time here.

As noted by other reviewers, Viviana and Alejandro provided a very welcoming atmosphere for all guests. They would be present at every breakfast to ask how the previous day was and to recommend sights or restaurants. Viviana is the owner who created a very warm and interesting space out of what they call a "chorizo" house. Alejandro is the manager who was enormously helpful in arranging transportation from and to the airport and making reservations for polo games, restaurants, etc. We also learned a lot about the Argentine way of life from these breakfast talks.

The room we had was very clean and comfortable. The street can be slightly noisy in the morning, but the insulation seems to work well enough.

The location of the B&B can't be beat with Palermo Viejo restaurants and boutiques just minutes away by foot and the Subte stop (Bulnes) about four blocks away. For travelers with children, I would note that there is a nice playground set in the middle of a plaza a block away.

All in all, we can fully recommend this gem in the heart of Palermo.

The room was great, breakfast outstanding and the hospitality amazing. We really enjoyed visiting with Alejandro and getting an insight on life in Buenos Aires. The Posada is very convenient to the subte (subway). There are a lot of great small restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood. Internet access was also good.

Our week-plus stay at Posada Palermo in February, 2007 was one of the most comfortable, friendly, and aesthically pleasing experiences in our 35 years of traveling.

Behind its 19th C doorway, the Posada unfolds with warmly colored, surprising elements that make you feel immediately welcomed (an internal garden with sleigh bench; a vaulting but cozy, art-filled breakfast room with music playing; a multi-leveled outdoor garden). Viviana, the owner and architect, designed each guestroom in a unique combination of Euro line and rich color to adapt the historical building (an old pasta factory with a classical façade). She and her daughter now live on the evolving upstairs level.

As several different returning guests affirmed to us, the Posada serves the most bounteous B&B breakfast in Buenos Aires. (And Viviana sends out for more if she thinks it’s not enough.) Tea, coffee and fresh water are always available beside the guestrooms in the tiny art-covered sitting area by the inside garden.

Even surpassing these features, was the friendliness and helpfulness of Viviana and her manager, Alejandro. No problem dropping off our luggage two days before our actual stay there. No problem finding us a nearby apartment for the night the Posada was filled by a frequently returning family. No problem letting us use the computer for email and information. No problem with us staying in the wonderful breakfast room way beyond breakfast time. They would join us at each breakfast and make sure we had all the information needed for the day, with local wisdom and suggestions thrown in.

We will surely return there on any trip to Buenos Aires.

Posada Palermo was a great home away from home in BA. The owner was warm, friendly and very helpful. They were happy to book restaurant reservations for us and make recommendations for things to see and do. Breakfasts were tasty and made to order, and our room was large and comfortable. We were in walking distance of all the great shopping and dining in Palermo, and we were able to easily catch taxis nearby.

As noted in the reviews below. The hosts and the breakfast are the highpoints of this B&B. They go all out to make sure you day starts right and any information that they can find of give you is provided. Sometimes they may be a bit to cautious in their recommendations, as I found to be the case elsewhere. Everybody is looking out for your safety in what is a relatively very safe big city.
The B&B is housed in a very interesting old building that has been attractively updated. The beds are good, the towels are very fluffy and the water pressure and amount of hot water excellant. The area of Palermo is very intersting and definately where you want to stay if good food and good wine are part of what you want to experience in Argentina. If it wasn't on your agenda, add it.

  • Liked — The hosted breakfast, great conversation, cafe con leche, dulce de leche
  • Disliked — Room 1 and hearing the doorbell, every time it rang. (Ear plugs worked)
