We stayed at the Art Suites for six nights during our visit to Buenos Aires. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. There are two suites per floor with the premium apartment facing the street and the executive apartment facing the courtyard. Breakfast is delivered to your room each morning at the time of your choosing. The front desk staff are extremely helpful. They know everything! The metro (subte') is a short walk away. A very convenient bus stop is only one block away. Taxi rides to the main bus station or train station or ferry terminal are short and inexpensive. There are two grocery stores located within one block of the hotel. A wide variety of restaurants are located within walking distance. The neighborhood reminded us of the upper west-side of NYC. Explore the treasure-trove of tour books and visitor information in the guest library within the hotel offices located on the second floor of the hotel.

Unbeatable location, in the middle of Recoleta, great location to walk from. The apartments are decent, clean, try to get the one bedroom penthouse if available. The only flaw (major flaw) was the shower as it had no pressure at all. I complained and the employee told me it was supposed to be like that (remember that Seinfeld episode?) Then on the last day they fixed it and became a decent shower. Breakfast is ok, but just around the corner there is an amazing place where you find fresh baked medialunas and bread. It is nice to stay at an apartment rather than a hotel, the price is convenient and apartments are nice enough to have an amazing stay.

Location, location, location. It was our first trip to Buenos Aires, and we loved the Barrio Norte neighborhood of Art Suites. There was a Coto grocery, several restaurants, fruit and veggie shop, news stand, subte stop, bank, pharmacy (and all of Santa Fe) within 5-10 minute walk. We walked at night and felt quite safe. When we were going farther afield, the doorman called us a taxi. The doorman were friendly and helpful (and totally willing to engage with me in Spanish, which was fun) and the building felt very safe and secure. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment facing the back of the building. It was extremely quiet to us (though we live in downtown Chicago and are used to some noise) and quite comfortable. At first glance, I was a little disappointed with the state of the apartment, it was not as snazzy as the photos and was a bit worn around the edges. The comforter was patched, the curtains a bit long and ragged, and there was no patio furniture. That said, it was quite clean and we settled in and felt quite comfortable. The bed was very comfy for a hotel bed, and there was great water pressure/hot water. It was great to have a fridge to store water and snacks, and we the apartment was well laid out with good closet space. Breakfast was fine and came just minutes after we called to request it. All in all, we would stay there again.

This was a nice appartment in a good neighbourhood. Check in was smooth, this was done in the office as there is no reception. It is really an appartment block with a doorman/concierge.

The room was fine, a one bed appartment with a small kitchenette. The furnishings were fairly spartan but it was clean and tidy with plenty of closet space.

Breakfast was delivered on a tray each morning, croissants, fruit juice and tea, nothing fancy but perfectly adequate to start the day.

There are many cafes and restaurants in the immediate surroundings and taxis are easy to come by for visits to other parts of town. The subway is about a 10 minute walk and Santa Fe is about a 3 minute walk, from there you can catch many buses.

The only negative was that the Wifi was useless, used the office computer on two occasions
A good expereince.

The Art Suites Hotel is an apartment hotel in a neighborhood that is similar to Manhattan's Upper West Side. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment for 5 nights in March. This is not a luxurious property but it is clean and comfortable and is located in a great neighborhood. The kitchen is very small with a tiny refrigerator and stove and a microwave. Our apartment was painted and well maintained. Be sure to bring an alarm clock and wash cloths if you use them. They supply tiny bars of soap so you may want to bring a bar of your own.

Curiously enough, the TV was in the bedroom and there were no chairs on the balcony.

The hotel has wi-fi but you must install their software to access it. I opted not to. There is an in-room safe that is large enough for a small laptop. The electrical outlets are a 'Y' configuration and are 220.

Most of the staff speak English and the doormen do double duty as concierges and are very helpful and gracious. Breakfast is delivered each morning at a time selected at check-in. The choices include coffee; tea; juice; milk and the ever-present medialunas. There is no other food service available on site.

There is a grocery across the street and another was opening a few doors down. There are good restaurants close by.

On another note, Buenos Aires has a high level of counterfeit currency in circulation. The most common bills that are counterfeited are $20, $50 and $100 peso notes. Bank machines deliver mostly $100 peso bills. Go into the bank and change those for smaller bills as fast as you can. Taxi drivers are famous for telling you they don't have change for large bills and then return a counterfeit to you. Or they include conterfeit notes in the change. This is a huge problem, please be cautious. The taxis are cheap and plentiful. It's a great city for walking but it's nice to have taxis so readily available when you need one.

Buenos Aires is a lovely city, the people are kind and gracious and it is well worth a visit. The Art Suites Hotel is a nice property, conveniently located, safe and clean.
