We just returned from an 8 night stay at Art Suites with our family. We wanted an apartment with some amenties of a hotel such as concierge and maid service. We could not have been happier. It is on a lovely street a few blocks from the center of Recoleta. The two bedroom apartment was clean, simple, and comfortable for a family of 5. Everybody at the hotel was helpful, arranging everything for us as we needed, including babysitters so that we could go out at night. It really felt like our home, exactly the experience we wanted. So it is a wonderful intermeidate step between full service hotel and apartment, just right for those who want to feel as though they are living in the city, as opposed to being tourists. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Art Suites on three separate occasions over the past month (a total of 5 nights), as we returned to BA from jaunts to other parts of Argentina (incidentally, they let us stow our larger suitcases while we were gone). We loved the Art Suites: my husband sparked to the great location, I enjoyed the large, very clean living quarters and the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, and my finicky 13-year old loved the breakfast croissants (medialunas) and the english-language TV.

We stayed in both 1 and 2-bedroom suites, and the latter are nearly twice the size of the 1-bedrooms (and have a nicer view), so are definitely worth the upcharge for groups of 3 or more. As was noted in a prior review, there is a grocery across the street and a wonderful fruit market on the corner. There are lots of small restaurants within a few blocks--the neighborhood has a bit of the ambiance of the Upper West Side in NYC: not as upper crust as the area around the Alvear, Park Hyatt, etc., but nice, bustling with Portenos, and down-to-earth. It was perfect for our needs, and we really felt like we were part of a neighborhood vs. tourists.

On a separate, broader note, Argentina was everything it was cracked up to be and more (this was our first trip): the sights were great, the food and wine wonderful (and great value) and people everywhere were amazingly warm and friendly--they really wanted us to have a good time. We are already planning our next trip...

This is a really nice hotel in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires. It is more like an apartment then a hotel. It has a fully stocked kitchen, a living room, bathroom and bedroom. (see photos) The rooms with 2 bedrooms also have 2 baths. The windows have double paned glass so even over New Year's eve, it was still quiet inside. The staff is very nice and the doormen speak enough English to help with directions and give advice. We would definately stay there again.
