This is a really nice hotel in the Recoleta district of Buenos Aires. It is more like an apartment then a hotel. It has a fully stocked kitchen, a living room, bathroom and bedroom. (see photos) The rooms with 2 bedrooms also have 2 baths. The windows have double paned glass so even over New Year's eve, it was still quiet inside. The staff is very nice and the doormen speak enough English to help with directions and give advice. We would definately stay there again.
I stayed with my family at the Art Suites in Recoleta for 8 nights. It was nice to stay on a quiet street in a residential neighbourhood with nice shops, bars, restaurants and other eating options within walking distance.
You truly feel like you are staying in an apartment with the advantages of a hotel: daily maid service and breakfast delivered to the room each morning!!!!! Everyone’s dream!!!!
It's not marked outside so you feel as if were just staying in someone's apartment, you feel just like a local! It was just like being at home in Buenos Aires!!!!!!
The apartment itself was spacious and nicely decorated. They are modern and kept perfectly clean. Everyone from the manager to the people at the front desk were friendly and helpful, ask everything to them, including reservations.
We really enjoyed our stay there, great staff, big and comfortable rooms, absolutely a pleasure!!!!!!
We totally recommend ART SUITES to everybody and we would definitely consider staying there again!!!!
We found Art Suites in the Lonely Planet guide, which is usually spot on. This time it was spot off. In every way. The staff was not helpful and in fact rather mean. We booked a 1-bedroom apartment for a week but then decided to take a mid-week trip for two days, and that we'd like to cancel two of the nights in the middle of our stay and keep the rest. Before we arrived in Argentina, we emailed them and told them we would like to modify our booking but they informed us that they weren't willing to do so and that we would be charged for the full amount (even though we wouldn't be there). They did say we could leave some luggage there while we were gone -- so thoughtful! The breakfast was horrible - some pastries, coffee, and orange juice. In the several nights we stayed there, we never had hot water in the shower. The decor was drab, looked like it came from the 1970's. One of the doormen was mean and insisted on speaking English to us even though we were speaking Spanish to him. (The other doorman was nice.) The entire experience almost ruined our trip, but luckily we left and found a better place to stay using Expedia: Kempinski Hotel - it was half the price and more than twice the quality -- full breakfast, hot water, friendly staff. I would never recommend that anyone stay at Art Suites. They're horrible. There are so many other good, affordable options in Buenos Aires there's no reason anyone should stay at Art Suites.
I stayed with my family at the Art Suites in Recoleta ([-]) for 4 nights in Nov of 2007. It was about a 5-minute walk to Recoleta Cemetery. If you’re looking for a hot spot, then the Art Suites is not for you. If, however, you’re with a group and you’re looking for just a taste of what it’s like to live in BA, then the Art Suites is perfect. I think most people who rent short-term apartments stay in Palermo Viejo or Soho. We probably would have liked it there too but Recoleta is more centrally located. (We never spent more than $10 pesos for a taxi from the hotel.) There were two grocery stores on the block, a fruit store on the corner and a several bakeries just a few blocks away. Our 2-bedroom apartment was super-clean, quiet and just what my family was looking for. The breakfast was the same every morning (just coffee and croissants) but we always ate a huge dinner so we were never hungry in the morning anyway. The concierge in the lobby helped us with dinner reservations, directions, etc.
