The cE Design Hotel (which is NOT the "Design Hotel" located right next door) is the ultimate loft-living experience. The hotel is situated b/w Palermo and Recoleta, making it extremely accessible to great restuarants, bars, shops, etc. The hotel itself is comprised of a series of loft-like rooms (our room had its own floor - I believe all of the "Patio" level rooms do as well) that overlooked a town square. The rooms are expansive, sun-filled, with mini-kitchen, large open bath/bathroom and overstuffed bed.

The staff couldnt have been more helpful and accommodating - storing luggage, making restaurant recommendations and reservations, etc. Also good to note that the staff spoke excellent English, should you be a little challenged in the native tongue.

Highly recommend it - its like having a large pied-a-terre in the middle of the city. Enjoy!

The Design hotel was pure bliss in the middle of Buenos Aires. Stayed in an amazing loft like room that was totally cool, chic and relaxing. Comfortable - lux bed and linens, great design features without comprimising functionality. Like staying in a loft apartment with the benefits of a full service hotel. Location is perfect for all the various neighborhoods that anyone wants to visit. walking distance from the main attractions and shopping destination. Room was A+. Service was even better (A+++). From reception, wait staff, management - all were very attentive and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. always available for helpful advice. i will definitely stay at hotel again.

Minimalism is a matter of taste/trend. . OK. But come on....The room felt naked. Including isolations. Can you imagine yourself waking up at 6:30 am with next door's conversation.???The section I stayed has only two rooms on that floor. My room was facing a wall and it was sooooo clostrafobic. The whole hotel has this same feeling...1 step front desk, another step you are in hotels cafe/breakfast/lunch/dinner room...
The hotel and the type of the room I have selected ( room 104) does not look like the photos in their webpage. Totally a dissappointment. The staff's english is not enough. Room service/cafe menu is in Spanish. I had to search words/images on the net to figure out what to order....

We spent 4 nights at this hotel. I booked a Plaza Suite Room and it was exactly like it looks in the photo - very large, spacious, clean, overlooking a park plaza, light, airy. I shared the room with my 2 young adult children and there was plenty of space for all of us and privacy, as well. The room has a table and small kitchen area which we did not plan on using, but because it was there, we brought home leftovers from our meals to snack on. The staff was wonderful. The room comes with a lovely breakfast which is served all day long. It is centrally located and a cheap cab ride away from Palmero. I recommend this hotel to anyone who likes modern decor and a nice view ( at least the Plaza Suites have lovely views and perhaps other rooms as well) and although Palermo is the hip place to be, in my opinion, it is better to be more centrally located when you are a tourist and this room is worth it.
