We stayed at The Cocker last week for 4 days.
The place is absolutly beautiful!! and the owners extremely helpful. As we arrived they gave us a map of the neiborhood indicating us their picks for restaurants, bars, and tango shows. If you want to get away from a turist trap nothing better that an insider tip! we tried many of their suggestions and they were wonderful!
I totally recomend staying there.
One last tip, because they only have 5 rooms they seem to be booked all the time, however they do have last-minute cancellations. Contact them to check! they online reservation system doesn´t update very fast.... that´s how I got my room.

We really loved this hotel as it's beautifully and tastefully decorated, and it feels like a museum. From the moment I contacted the owners, they were very responsive and friendly. They even took my reservation upon my word as they don't take credit cards (yet?), and that says a lot about their class. While we were there, Ian and Aidan were away, but we were met with warmth and smile of Carolyn, their friend. She met us at 3:30AM with a smile and warm welcome. We all got the feeling as if we were visiting friends rather than being in a hotel.
The location is awesome, in fact, we always ate in the neighborhood (1880 Parilla, Desnivel) and nearby is a great milonga where you can watch locals dance the night away. In fact, we liked the milonga much more than the tango show that we went to.
This is a great and friendly hotel where you don't get the feeling that you are in a hotel - it is so cozy and relaxing.

We would definitely return if we ever come back to Buenos Aires (just don't raise the prices too much, guys!).

Aidan and Ian did us proud. All the rooms are stunning with their own creative details- beautiful flowers, gorgeous paintings and furniture; all in an wonderfully restored art deco building.
The breakfast was always fantastic too.
We were made to feel very welcome and had a brilliant time there. We even went back for our last night in B.A.

Stayed at loads of hotels, B&B's and even a ranch in Brazil and Argentina over the past month. Of them all, the Cocker was our favourite; cool and beautifully executed throughout, a warm welcome from charming owners, excellent breakfasts, good location and unfeasably good value.

If you do stay - or even if you don't - the steakhouse around the corner (Manolo's) is similarly both the best and the best value "parilla" of the many, many we tried throughout our hols.

The Cocker is the most perfect boutique hotel! The accommodation, setting and especially the owners, Aidan and Ian made it the most memorable experience. The room we stayed in was comfortable and interesting and the public rooms made it seem like home. The rood terraces are enchanting - I was tempted to sit and enjoy the views, read or look out for the humming birds rather than explore the city!

I am sure that bookings will have to be made well in advance as The Cocker will become the most sought after hotel to stay in Buenos Aires. I definitely intend to return. The whole experience was more like visiting friends than staying in a hotel - Aidan and Ian (and Kate and Rocco) were friendly, helpful and truly made my holiday.
