From the moment you enter The Cocker you realize you have stumbled upon a hidden gem. Ian and Aiden have infused this Bed & Breakfast with their own personal charm and whimsy mixed with elegance and finesse. The love they poured into the restoration of this old home is palpable and makes for a richly unique environment. They are hosts that welcome you as if they have known you forever. Rocco (the cocker the place is named for) greets you with a warm wiggle and is just one more addition to a welcoming atmosphere. Every architectural detail, every flawless touch of interior design, and every warm moment offered is simply natural for them. Unrehearsed, unpretentious, and understated -- you are treated like royalty.
The rooms (we stayed in 17-04) are comfortable, gorgeous, and well thought out. They provide you with only the finest linens and fresh towels daily. It is hard to believe they do all of the flowers themselves--they are breathtaking and just another touch that makes your stay feel all the more intimate.
Ian and Aiden provided wonderful restaurant recommendations, sat with us to map out the area, and were available to guide our visit to Buenos Aires as not to miss anything. The location of The Cocker is perfect for the antique fair on Sunday, wonderful boutique shopping, tango, and terrifically authentic restaurants.
We were so taken with the innkeepers and the graciousness of their hospitality that we extended our stay just a day after arriving. It is worth the price of accommodations just to browse through their before pictures prior to the restoration. Choosing one place to sit and have a glass of wine may be overwhelming. The salon is classy, sophisticated, and comfortable. The kitchen table is perfect for pulling up the laptop and planning the day's itinerary. The rooftop gardens provide incredible views and the morning breakfast is beautiful, well prepared, and hearty.
They seem to be booked up many months in advance, but call as soon as you know you are traveling to BA. We simply can't decide what was more perfect---The Cocker or the wonderful city of Buenos Aires.
