From the moment you enter The Cocker you realize you have stumbled upon a hidden gem. Ian and Aiden have infused this Bed & Breakfast with their own personal charm and whimsy mixed with elegance and finesse. The love they poured into the restoration of this old home is palpable and makes for a richly unique environment. They are hosts that welcome you as if they have known you forever. Rocco (the cocker the place is named for) greets you with a warm wiggle and is just one more addition to a welcoming atmosphere. Every architectural detail, every flawless touch of interior design, and every warm moment offered is simply natural for them. Unrehearsed, unpretentious, and understated -- you are treated like royalty.

The rooms (we stayed in 17-04) are comfortable, gorgeous, and well thought out. They provide you with only the finest linens and fresh towels daily. It is hard to believe they do all of the flowers themselves--they are breathtaking and just another touch that makes your stay feel all the more intimate.

Ian and Aiden provided wonderful restaurant recommendations, sat with us to map out the area, and were available to guide our visit to Buenos Aires as not to miss anything. The location of The Cocker is perfect for the antique fair on Sunday, wonderful boutique shopping, tango, and terrifically authentic restaurants.

We were so taken with the innkeepers and the graciousness of their hospitality that we extended our stay just a day after arriving. It is worth the price of accommodations just to browse through their before pictures prior to the restoration. Choosing one place to sit and have a glass of wine may be overwhelming. The salon is classy, sophisticated, and comfortable. The kitchen table is perfect for pulling up the laptop and planning the day's itinerary. The rooftop gardens provide incredible views and the morning breakfast is beautiful, well prepared, and hearty.

They seem to be booked up many months in advance, but call as soon as you know you are traveling to BA. We simply can't decide what was more perfect---The Cocker or the wonderful city of Buenos Aires.

My partner and I stayed at The Cocker for three nights at the end of September and returned for three more nights after a brief stay in the Palermo area of BA. We first stayed in the largest room that has a private garden, poster bed, and believe it or not, a wet-room directly above the bed! Later we stayed in the rooftop room, again with an outdoor sitting area and a private bath. Fresh flowers all around, gorgeous mirrors, spiral stairs, the whole place is intimate and exciting at once. The Cocker's San Telmo location is perfect for walks to Plaza Dorrego, Plaza de Mayo, and not far from Puerto Madero. There is a subway stop right up the street. The hosts are incredibly attentive in the most relaxed way. This spot hasn't made into any of the current guidebooks yet because it just opened last May. I believe they are booked well into next year so reserve now if you are planning to be in the area. You will be so glad you did!!

great inn, great city. staying at the cocker with my girlfriend, actually writing this in my room with the 'hotel laptop' a pretty cool ibook. we're here for the second part of our trip in ba after starting off at the faena - which is pretty special - for a romantic interlude although to be honest we wish we'd not bothered and just stayed here- it's something like a quarter of the price and even if there's no pool our room with gardens all around it is truly spectacular. the owners have amazing interior design and its a really nice 100 year old house with really high ceilings and old details. me and sarah went on sunday to the local antique market which is just up the street and just love the area which is really quaint with plenty to do at night - following aidens advice we went to a very authentic tango bar or 'milonga' and have had a few great dinners - with famous steak of course! the service here is great - we've been lent books, got picked up at the airport etc. etc. only downside would be lots (and lots!) of stairs but we we didn't have to carry our luggage so it was ok! thanks to the guys - aiden and ian for being being really friendly and a great place - will definately stay here again if we come back to Buenos Aires

My partner and I recently stayed at 'The Cocker' and were quite simply knocked out by the place. Our room had a four poster bed with a glass bathroom above it and its own garden!

The owners are a delightful couple who helped arrange a trip to Chile , reccomended some wonderful restaurants ('Abril' is stunning) and were charm personified throughout our stay.

The hotel itself is a beautiful art nouveau house and has been 'done up' in a very chic, modern way, I especially liked the salon, which is terribly grand with a grand piano etc. I felt like I was living in the kind of dream house I've always intended to have, but never quite got round to!

The location was also excellent, with the city centre a ten minute walk up charming Defensa, and very close to Plaza Dorrego, a lovely park and various restaurants and museums.

All in all, this little hotel made our (too short) trip to South America, I cannot reccomend it highly enough, and we shall be back soon!!
