We stayed at Five Cool Rooms at the end of February and loved it. We had the biggest room in the house with our own jacuzzi bath, room 201. It was enormous. We'd been trekking around for Patagonia for two weeks and it was the perfect place to relax.
There's a gorgeous hot tub on the roof terrace which no one seems to use which is a huge shame. We were in there most days.
Everyone talks about the staff in Five as being helpful. I'd say that this is very true. We wanted to bring a painting back to the UK and they helped us to sort this out with our airline. The staff are not at all pushy and forceful which at first made us think they were quite unfriendly. This isn't the case at all. I think they just respect their guests' privacy enough not to be too in-your-face. If you ask them for anything, they will help you out immediately.
My big tip would be staff restaurant tips - much better than any guidebook. We particularly loved the tips as they showed us places with few tourists, for us Londoners it's pretty cool to be able to avoid the tourists for a while.
Maybe the rooms could do with a paint, especially the bathrooms. And the guys on reception weren't as friendly as the girls but neither of those points were so bad. We had a brilliant time at Five and can't wait to go back.
