We had very high expectations of Five Cool Rooms. It was to be the culmination of our trip. Perhaps I had set the expectations too high but my initial impressions were somewhat disappointing on first sight. The rooms are fine and the bathrooms are nice but I was expecting a little better given the relative price. Having said that, we quickly became comfortable with our new surrounds and have to say, the hotel won me over - largely because of its staff and the location of the hotel. The hotel is located in Palermo Viejo - the new happening spot in BA - and a stroll from Plaza Serrano - the hub of nighlife in the area. You really could not ask for a better location. The staff are truly five star. We bombarded them with questions and they helped with a smile and usually a phone call everytime. This included getting a doctor on a Sunday morning. I really can't say enough about the staff and highly recommend the area. The hotel itself is fine - actually the breakfast is decidedly average - so just don't go expecting five star all the way. Would I stay there again? I'd certainly stay in Palermo Viejo but I may have a look around for somewhere a bit cheaper.

We were here for a week, found the staff and location terrific altho the place is far from many of the tourist must-sees in the center. As long as the US$ is so strong the reasonable taxi fares made it possible to go anywhere. Our room was a large suite without jacuzzi, which is really smaller than an average American hotel room, but with a huge, shower-only bath. Average rooms were literally the size of the bed, and there were no outside windows in any of the rooms we saw, so if you're claustrophobic this is not the place for you. Picture an architecturally dramatic, contemporary structure on a townhouse-sized lot. The central courtyard is a shaft of light and air, with a central column holding elevator, stairs, utilities. We neglected to put some money in the room safe and we think it was stolen from a jacket pocket. Loved the neighborhood and its quiet, boutiquey, cabblestoned relief from the more frantic downtown. We are not the trendy thirty-somethings that other reviews have directed here, and who were greatly in evidence, but were perfectly comfortable. Be aware--polished concrete is the predominant material--rugless floors, bathroom counters. Ask for cash discount at checkout. Can't say enough about the staff. Great!

My partner and I truly enjoyed our stay here. Centrally located in Palermo SoHo, it's near great nightlife, shopping, and restaurants.

Albeit a bit small, the rooms were very nice and well-appointed. Breakfast was served on the roof lounge (where there's a great jacuzzi as well) every morning. And the staff was more than helpful — they were friendly and attentive to our needs. Fantastic!

When, not 'if', we go back we will definately stay here again.
