My wife and I agree that this hotel is one of the finest at which we have ever stayed. The physical property is spectacular. The courtyard between the palace and the new tower is easily the nicest urban outdoor space I have ever experienced at a hotel. Whether it was breakfast on the patio or wine and cheese before dinner, we spent a bit of time in the courtyard on every one of four days at the PH.
Our room was in the new tower and although it was not large by American standards it was very well laid out. The bed and linens were top notch (the best we had in Argentina, by far) and the bathroom had a deep tub that was perfect for soaking. The only issue I had with the room (and it is minor) at all was that I wish the bathroom had two sinks.
The service at the hotel was exceptional. Everyone we met from the initial doorman to the maid who brought us our complimentary raspberry marshmallows was friendly and professional. The concierge service was extremely dedicated and faciliated everything from dinner reservations to issues we were having with a hotel where we were staying later in our trip. Any time we left the lobby of the hotel a doorman would ask us in English if we knew where we were going and would advise us on routes and places to avoid.
We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was good, but you can do better in Buenos Aires. The food at breakfast was very good, but as noted above it was wonderful to sit outside in the courtyard in the morning sun.
Overall I can't say enough about this hotel and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Buenos Aires.
