My husband and I plus a friend who was travelling with us, spent three nights at the Park Hyatt adter a Regent Seven Seas cruise in Feb 08. Note that Regent is a hard act to follow (!) but the Park Hyatt turned up trumps. We loved the blend of the old, historic palace and the new building, linked by a lovely garden, beautifully lit at night. The room was nicely furnished - the only negative was the size of the closet. Above all the hotel is very quiet, both inside and out.
We had several meals there and were impressed with their food. Lunch at the Gioia restaurant is perfect between sightseeing and shopping - a buffet of antipasti, and a buffet of desserts. You can, if you wish, add a main course, but the starter and the dessert were fine for us. Eating dinner outside in the garden is a lovely experience.
The hotel is beautifully situated, very close to the centre of town (if BA has a centre!) but in a quiet, tree lined neighbourhood which reminded us of the Upper East side in NY without the dirt and noise. There is a small shopping mall across the street and around 6 restaurants at the end of the road, should one not feel like eating in the hotel.
I thoroughly recommended the Park Hyatt. It is very stylish and very comfortable and the free internet access is a plus!
