After arriving in Argentina on an all-night flight, Teresita's Bed & Breakfast was the perfect start to our 3 week stay in the country. The location, accomodations, breakfast and service were all superb. Teresita could not have been a more gracious hostess, and I wish other inkeepers would take lessons from her on how to treat visitors. Our time in the town of Adrogué was very pleasant, and everyone treated us very kindly.

I make these comments as someone who travels frequently to Latin America with family members and with groups of students. This was one of the very best experiences we have had while traveling! I will recommend Teresita's to anyone I know traveling to Argentina!

Wow. That is all I can say after my wonderful trip to Teresita's lovely home and neighborhood of Adrogue in the Provence of Buenos Aires. If you're looking for the constant excitement of downtown BA , then do not come here to stay. The cottage is located in a sleepy upper middle class neighborhood outside of the city center. There are plenty of great restaurants such as Pizza Tempo that are really worth considering and if you are brave you can take the transportation to the big city on the train with the locals. The people in Adrogue are warm and friendly, especially Buddha (the tour guide and driver), the owner of the bed and breakfast, her husband, her family, and even her dog ( i am a cat person, and I really loved the dog). Come here only if you are willing to put out a lot of the money for your vacation on transportation to the city center should you want to go there a lot and I do believe you should at least a couple of times. But please do not come here if you do not speak any spanish and do not know anyone that speaks spanish to come with you. Overall, The people of BA, and especially Adrogue, do not speak english at all except Teresita herself. Because of this, I do not think you will fully enjoy yourself without having at least a basic grasp of spanish and/or having someone with you with at least a basic grasp of spanish. It will be very hard to get around without having guides like Teresita or Buddha with you at all times and I do mean this! Staying there IS a real taste of life in Argentina, and with that comes seeing some of real poverty in some of the lives of people when you are commuting to downtown. Be prepared to see all of BA, not just the rosy surface of the downtown area. But I think that is good and you will appreciate it if you're a true traveler and not a go-by-night tourist who only goes to a place to say they went there.
---------------------------------------
All that aside, DO TAKE HER COOKING CLASSES! They are one of the highlights of the trip and yet another authentic taste of life in Argentina. Order dinner from her a few nights, it is spectacular. I loved the steak and the fettucini is amazing as well. Take a city tour with Buddha and have him pick you up from the airport and take you back, they are great investments. It was a wonderful stay overall and I would recommend it to anyone who really wants to see the real Argentina.

  • Liked — The authentic life and culture of the country instead of some pre-packaged McHotel or McVacation
  • Disliked — The distance from the center of the city; no e-mail access or phone access immediately and at all times

My daughter and I stayed at Teresita's for 3 nights. Had a wonderful time. The location is perfect for relaxation and great food. The room was spacious and well appointed and very clean. Teresita is a lovely woman who cares a lot about her guest's comforts and needs. She also conducts cooking classes and recommends places nearby that one can go to eat. The other incredible advantage of the place is that Teresita's neighbor, Buda, can be hired to drive guests including pick up from Ezeiza. Prices are very reasonable and the value for the money is great. I would recommend Teresita's for a couple with a baby or small child, or a couple by themselves as the accomodations are limited. Would also recommend taking one or more of Teresita's cooking classes. Her breakfasts are great, all homemade, including yogurt. Great hospitality and attention!

Everything about Teresita B&B was incredibly good. This was one of the highlights of my 2-week vacation in Argentina. The neighborhood is safe and upscale, I walked around at night alone and felt completely safe. If you don't have a car it is easy to get to and from the B&B by any method: train, bus, mini bus, taxi, or remise (private driver).

The property is fenced and private with lush gardens that makes a peaceful oasis. I stayed in the detached cottage which was immaculate and fully appointed. Teresita made me dinner my 1st night which was a delight. Took the empanada class which was inspiring. I wish I could have stayed longer and especially in the warmer months when they have bbq outside in their lovely terrace area.

The only thing I could recommend is that Teresita make a cookbook for purchase, I'm sure all the guests and students would buy it. Or packages of spices to buy, because I cannot find aji molido in my state.

The breakfast served was very good and I liked eating it in Teresita's kitchen as we chatted. If you are going to Buenos Aires you should definetly stay here at least 2 nights and/or take any of their cooking classes.

  • Liked — B&B atmosphere with cooking class
  • Disliked — Distance from Center, but easy to get to

Teresita B&B is an incredible deal! You get a cute little cottage in a tree-lined neighborhood. We stayed one night and then took the enpanadas cooking class, The class was intimate and fun, and involved a lot of wine that started pouring at noon. Adrogue had great restauarants and a relaxed atmosphere. Downtown BA is about 40 minutes away by train. The train is its own unique marketplace that you have to experience to appreciate. The only downside is the twin beds that you have to push together if you want a bigger bed. Oh, and don't forget Tiny, the resident Vizsla, who would be happy to share your breakfast crepes with you. Be sure to have cash when you are ready to pay your bill. Teresita does not take credit cards.
