We were so pleased we stayed at Home Hotel. Although this fairly new hotel has a terrific and well deserved reputation I wondered if it might be more suited to a more youthful market than ourselves. I need not have been concerned as Home hotel is ideal for all travellers with a wide range of needs.
The hotel itself is enormously comfortable and relaxed in a way that you feel able to make it the haven of friendliness and comfort in a big city which you need. The neighbourhood is great for eating and shopping and access to everywhere in Buenos Aires is straightforward.
The staff could not have been more helpful and the standards of catering ,housekeeping and "client care" were better than I have experienced anywhere for the last few years in Europe or North America.
Thank you for a brilliant stay.

I stayed at Home with 3 friends for 3 nights this month. We thought there was no way it could live up to the hype, since every magazine or newspaper article i have read in the past six months recommended it. I have to say I think they do a very nice job. The front desk staff was a little uneven in terms of how helpful and attentive they were. Breakfast was amazing everyday. We loved the pool and garden area. The spa was ok, might be another one somewhere else that is better, but it was a great way to spend the morning upon arrival. The rooms were nice, really nothing too special but they were clean and had enough space. The hotel isnt in the heart of palermo, but not a far walk to the main area, and there are definitely some cute shops and restaurants within a block or two that are worth checking out. I think the prices are a little inflated from all the publicity, but they are still dirt cheap compared to a similar place in the states.

This hotel was fine. It was nothing fancy, they are trying to be the W, but they are about 35% there, which still nets out to be nice. You should know that Home Hotel is not in the nice, trendy section of Palermo. It is literally on the other side of the train tracks (with all of the associated connotations). It is about a 10 minute walk to the shops. The sidewalks are all broken in the neighborhood where the hotel is. Not cracked, broken. You can't look up because you need to pay attention to the ground so you don't fall. You should know I live in NYC, so I am used to cities, but this just didn't seem like a safe location. We were always looking around when we were walking at night time.

The beds were comfortable, lots of english tv channels to choose from. The bathrooms were fine. The shower was on the dirty side, a little moldy in the corners (just spray bleach!!). Bring your own toilteries, they had very generic liquid soap, shampoo and conditioner, no lotion and no wash cloths. They had robes, no slippers. There is no fan in the bathroom either, which makes it so hot when you shower and doesn't allow any privacy. Walls were very thin, could hear toilet flushing in next room.

They are going for a minimalist look, but it is on the sparse side. Floors are all concrete in the rooms, which means very cold when you wake up, esp since no slippers!

When I was there, mosquitos were a MAJOR problem. I guess I should have known when I saw the Off at the desks and behind the bar at the restaurant. I got like 10 bites in a manner of minutes at breakfast. Several people were swatting the whole time! We were chasing them around our room too. ick. I guess they really can't do anything about the mosquitos, but they were everywhere!

The staff was nice and handled all of our dinner reservations. But, don't let them tell you to go to Guidos for authentic Italian. I regret that we listened to her and went. Food was crap, roach on the wall our table was against, and they had no menus. They just bring very, very bad food. Not that i have ever been, but i imagine Olive Garden is upscale and delicious compared to that place.. And they tries to rip us off by charging double.

So, hotel was OK, but I just wouldn't stay in this neighborhood again. Cabs are so dirt cheap in BA, stay downtown or in Recoleta and take a cab to the shops or to any restaurants around there.

For reasons far too lengthly to go into here, my husband arrived at the hotel the day before me - on Valentines Day. Home Hotel were great and advised against rushing out to a nearby restaurant to gorge on steak as the atmosphere would be 'much too romantic'. Instead he ate there and the staff looked after him really well.

Throughout our stay (5 nights) nothing was too much trouble, the ambience of the place is really nice and chilled. The building and the decor are the absolute business in terms of design and coolness but its still a really comforable place to be. The staff are so warm and helpful and the service is top notch.

The hotel staff arranged for us to get over to Pacha for a spot of clubbing which was brilliant - even Coldplay turning up didn't spoil it.

Home also arranged some tickets for us to see Boca play Rosario while we were there - I think it was also Riquelme's home debut.

There are loads of really top bars, restaurants and discos very close to the hotel so if you hung out around Palermo and avoided down town there is still loads to do and see. The shopping around there is great as well - lots of great designers, bags, shoes...

We would certainly stay there again in a heart beat.

My husband and I spent the first four nights of our honeymoon at Home Hotel in Buenos Aires. We loved it. It is retro-modern clean hotel with cool cement floors and modern style bathrooms. We had a room overlooking the garden and pool and found it comfortable and quiet. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was interesting with different fruit juices, butters, jams and pasteries. The evening drinks by the pool were a lovely oasis from the hustel and bustel of BA. We were sorry to leave at the end of the week and wanted to re-book for a couple of nights the following week, but they were booked. The night manager was able to line up another hotel in the area, but it didn't come close to the comfort we had at Home. We would recommend this hotel to anyone...don't miss it!!
