Just got back from spending 6 nights at Home hotel and I can't say enough good things about it. The staff was excellent and didn't seem at all bothered with my 1000 questions every day from the most mundane ("is it going to be cool again?") to ("where should i go for dinner/ lunch/ wine shop?"). They always had an answer or suggestion for me. The hotel itself was charming and comfortable and it was nice to be somewhere where the staff/concierge knew who your were from day 1. Also liked the free internet. The rooms were modern and clean with the most comfortable bed and pillows ever! (I had a hard time getting up to go back out to dinner at 10pm b/c I was so comfy AND my bed in my apartment now feels so uncomfortable). The breakfasts were filling and delicious..i loved the different mixed juices each morning (who would think of mixing oj w/ green tea?).
Although Home is in Palermo Hollywood and it is not as built up as Palermo Soho.. you can totally feel the energy and see the build up of the area so you know in a few months.. there is going to be more and more around there from boutiques to restaurants to lounges/ clubs. There are about 4 good restaurants within 1 1/2 blocks if you don't want to travel far (and I really liked Grappa) but like it has been said.. taxi's are so cheap.. who cares if you have to get one to go to Soho... plus, the concierge will be more than happy to get one for you in an instant. The bartenders at HOME are excellent and can mix up an amazing drink just by you telling them what you like and don't like. Next time I go to BA I will go sometime from Oct- March so I can take advantage of the Friday night dj/ happy hour by the pool. (plus it would be a little warmer than April). Would absolutely recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay there again.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. We stayed there for a few days and then went to Iguazu, during which time they kept some of our luggage and then we came back for a few days before we left BA. Our suite was super, the spa is superb, we had an excellent massage when we arrived really gave us a chilled start to our holiday. The receptionists were excellent, sorting reservations and an excellent Tango lesson. The food is lovely, eating in the garden you feel a million miles from the hustle and the bustle of city life and the cocktails are to die for. The area is great for shopping and eating- we had to buy an extra suitcase so enjoy.

  • Liked — Style, service and cleanliness
  • Disliked — access to the hotel computer, it was on a shelving unit and I kept banging my head on th shelf above it.

We just returned from spending 5 nights at Home, 1st for 3 nights and then for 2. Unfortunately they were booked our last two nights in BA so we moved to the Marriott. Upon our arrival I had booked a massage for my husband and I which was wonderful. The spa is very zen like. As all the other reviews state the staff is truly amazing, and that's the difference between a large chain hotel and a small boutique hotel. We got service with a smile from everyone on staff, and always ready to help out in any way to make your stay a memorable one.

The "Home" breakfast was great! Each day we got 2 shot glasses with a different fruit juice that was blended with fresh herbs, along with a flavored butter, fresh jam which changed daily, fresh fruit, a shot glass with yogurt, cereal and honey, assorted breads and baked goods.

We can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the Home Hotel for 4 nights in March 2008. The staff there is wonderful, just about the best anyone could hope for and the garden setting and pool is lovely. However, you should be aware that it is located in Palermo Hollywood, across the train tracks, which makes it a trek to get to most major sites. Yes, the taxis are cheap and it will not likely cost you more than $6 U.S. to get to most major attractions, but there are some other factors you should consider before booking this hotel. For example, the hotel is located in an area that is only beginning to be developed. There are some wonderful restaurants 3-8 blocks away, but it is not a scenic walk. Garbage pickers and stray dogs are common, sad sights in the area. The hotel rooms are starkly modern, have concrete floors with very little storage space. The bathroom is large, but with a sliding door that makes a loud noise when it pens/closes--annoying in the middle of night. So, all in all, if I had to do it again, I would not stay at the Home, but rather closer into the city, at someplace like the Tryp Hotel-see my review of our 1 night there.

Now that you're reading my review, there's only one thing further to do. Book your stay at Home immediately. This was my favorite hotel in any city - you'll regret if you book elsewhere. Why did I love it so much?

1) SERVICE - above all, the staff at Home (led by the fantastic Cecilia) goes above and beyond. I routinely quizzed them about the best local pizza, best shopping, etc., and they always delighted in ensuring my experience was perfect. It wasn't like they were doing it for tips either - more so because they just wanted to help me enjoy their city. They even called the nearby pharmacy to have them set aside some items for us, knowing the language barrier might present some problems. We eventually became friends with the staff and they were helping us with our Argentinean Spanish, local culture, etc. A special thanks to Cristian, Natalia and Alejandro in the bar - they added a lot of memories to our trip and were a lot of fun to be around. Clearly Home understands that it's important for the staff to interact with the guests, and they seem to really enjoy doing so.

2) FOOD - the breakfast was DELICIOUS!!! Such interesting pairings and great flavors. I looked forward to it each morning. Also, great tapas, snacks and drinks.

3) POOL - take a look at the pictures and see for yourself. Such a beautiful pool with tons of comfortable seats and a gorgeous garden surrounding it. Lots of sun, too.

4) ROOM - very comfy bed, great style and functional bathroom. Not a single complaint with the room. We especially liked the MP3 player speakers.

5) LOCATION - there are soooo many restaurants in Palermo Hollywood, and the shops of Palermo Soho are only a few blocks away.

I honestly was sad to leave Hotel Home and very much look forward to my next stay. Don't even think about staying elsewhere.
