“Beautiful hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

This is possibly the best hostel I've ever stayed in. The hostel and the rooms are beautiful (we stayed in the double ensuite), there is a nice roof terrace, everything is very clean. The staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Perhaps only downsides are the location and breakfast. But really - this is a great hostel, highly recommended.

I'll state the few negatives first: the reservation process was a bit confused with some rooms offered when they were really not available (though, admittedly, I reserved via email alone and the friendly owners did offer me the couch for free for two nights). Also, the breakfast could be a bit better than rolls, jam, coffee and tea. Perhaps some dulce de leche, fruit, yogurt and granola? Lastly, the WIFI seemed to be a bit temperamental.

Those negatives aside, this is a really, really nice place to stay in Buenos Aires. The location is nice -- two blocks from metro, one block from an atmospheric shopping mall and a giant discount grocery store, 20-30 pleasant minutes from Recoleta or Palermo by foot.

Staying here is really more like staying in a home or a B&B than a hostel, hence the Trip Advisor category. The friendly staff and well-decorated living room and roof terrace provide a host of places to hang out and enjoy the staff's hospitality.

Showers are hot with great pressure. Beds are comfortable with good linens and duvets.

With a few tweaks, this would be a definite five-star accommodation -- and, even without them, it is an outstanding place to base yourself in Buenos Aires. Easy to meet friendly people here, too.

I don't dislike this place but then I didn't love it either.

Location not amazing, you're not in one of the more famous or quainter neighborhoods yet you are close to the metro and buses to go and visit them. It is close to a big mall and a big supermarket but lacks a certain vibe of the other areas in BA.

Room was spacious, super clean and charismatic, like the whole building but breakfast was a bit lacking even by SA standards.

Some people seem to really like it, I've stayed in many hostels but this one and I didn't quite click - lots of other positive reviews on here so I guess it's up to you, sorry I couldn't be much help on this occasion!

Stayed there with my wife for over a week in 2011. It was fantastic! The staff is helpful, the place is nice, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is simple, but very tasty (I miss those breads so much!). It is very well located: you walk a couple blocks and you reach a supermarket (cheaper meals), a mall (quicker meals) and a subway station. You can be in front of Casa Rosada fifteen minutes after leaving the hostel.

Room Tip: We stayed at the shared rooms to save cash, and it was also great to meet different people, and the...

really clean and comfortable hostel run by very friendly people. Slight problem with our booking being recorded for the wrong nights, but they fixed everything quickly an discounted us for the rest of the stay. Room number 6 was amazing for a hostel. Can be noisy though with traffic.

This is a gem of a hostel with a very cool layout and bags of character, although it gets booked up quickly as it offers such great value. We had a double room with en suite and it felt like staying in a hotel only with the bonus, in our opinion, of having kitchen facilities. The staff are all friendly and helpful and there are great communal spaces, including a beautiful roof terrace.
The breakfast is nothing to write home about, but it's better than nothing.

Everything about this hostel is top-notch. The environment and style of the building, the staff and the roof-terrace with tabletennis. Breakfast nothing much, although the coffee is good.
Almagro, the area where the hostel is situated, is very local and has a good vibe with nice cheap bars and parilla restaurants. The hostel although can't be described. The staff are great, and there is something about the architecture and decor that generates a nice social atmosphere without being "enforced sociability".
