We were met by two doors and no sign. As the cab pulled away we still were not sure that we had found the right place....a knock on the door proved that we did!

Once we arrived and got inside, we felt like more than just guests. Lujan greeted us, showed us around (explaining that beer, wine and soft drinks were available in the fridge and to just write down what we had) and told us of all the events going on in the neighbourhood. She was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

Had 103 Suite Principal as our room and it was great. Very large bathroom, nice room and directly off of the courtyard. A fridge in the room made it very easy to bring our own refreshments back at the end of a day.

Many guests were staying here and in Buenos Aires strictly for the Tango. While sitting around at breakfast talking with other guests you got the sense that everyone was really enjoying their stay at Lina's (and that she knew all the best tango spots).

We met Lina the second day and found her to be very hospitable with a warm personality. While not intrusive, she was always on hand for anything you might need.

Our final night had Lina escorting 9 guests of hers to a local social club for a fantastic (and inexpensive) night of dinner, wine and dancing. Clearly an experience that nobody would have had without Lina showing the way.

A wonderful place in a terrific neighbourhood and place that I would love to return to.

Lina's Tango Guesthouse is a great place to stay in Buenos Aires to get a feel for what the city is really like. Staying here is like being a guest in Lina's home, rather than staying in an impersonal hotel. San Telmo is a great neighborhood, full of atmospheric Porteno flavor and the guesthouse is a short walk from the center of San Telmo.

This Argentine Style B&B is rough on the outside with a welcoming inside. Lina is a kind hostess with a likewise bright and helpful staff.

My room was in the unfortunate location of being on the receiving end of a roof leak. Ugly stains on the wall and the mildewy scent was awful. But to her credit, she moved me the minute I asked and promptly called a contractor to help her figure out a solution.

It is located just 2 blocks from the main subway line and two major avenues - 9 de Julio and Independencia. The furniture is older and simple and the place is kept very clean.

The area is more rundown than I expected. And the outside of the pensione is rough, but the inside has a charming courtyard with a guest kitchen that was really nice to use.

Lina is very nice but the service is low even for the price. In the winter the room was very cold upon arrival and it was a day before it warmed, it was also very noisy. The sheets are changed every 4 days, the same with room cleaning. The heavy curtains were very dusty. The breakfast minimal and cold, as it is put out early and just sits on the table no matter how what time you go for breakfast. The spring time may be better. San Telmo is of course a very interesting neighborhood.

A woman traveling alone...and loving it! that's me!! Of course you must choose a safe environment to stay, especially in big cities! WEll! Let me tell you, fellow travelers, LINA'S TANGO GUESTHOUSE in San Telmo was an excellent choice!!! The place is small and very welcoming thanks to its hostess/owner, the beautiful and friendly Lina Acuna!!! The place is clean, cheerful and luminous! Full of flowers and plants! But even more so by the friendliness of Lina who takes the time to make you feel at home! Giving practical tips about navigating in gorgeous Buenos Aires and bohemian San Telmo! In only five days I already felt I was part of the neighborhood!!...and of Lina's household, having met her husband Raul and her adorable son Paul!!!
I can't say enough about my stay (too short!...MUST come back!), at Lina's Guesthouse. There, I met great people! A couple from Switzerland, Romi and Johannes, another from Germany, Ursula and Will, and Julianna, from Canada!! all these people brought together for the love of the Tango. Of course Ernesto will teach you if you want to learn! Just ask Lina!!
I will come back as soon as I can! I had the time of my life in Buenos Aires and at Lina's Tango Guesthouse!! Gracias Lina! Hasta pronto! Te recuerda tu nueva amiga Sylvia...de Dallas!!!
