Esplendor is a new hotel in Buenos Aires, open approx 5 months. Building work was still ongoing when we arrived.
Myself and my husband booked into the Esplendor for 4 nights but stayed at the hotel for 1 night.
This hotel has got to be top of the list for one of the worst locations in Buenos Aires for noise pollution. It is located on the corner of the busiest streets in Buenos Aires, while it is a central location, if you want an afternoon nap or a good sleepin in the morning don't book here. The hotel developers need to invest in quadruple glazing and since the windows are enormous in each room this really is a must, the double glazing really isn't working, my first comment when I walked into the bedroom was 'is the window open', I couldn't believe the traffic noise pollution that was coming through double glazing !! We did ask to be moved and unfortunately all rooms have windows over looking the main streets.
Aside from the noise, rooms are decorated nicely, breakfast was good, however reception staff are quite unhelpful and building work was still ungoing, when we were there!!
We stayed one night and left after breakfast, early morning traffic starts before sun rise !! we left the hotel before we had called other hotels to seek alternative accomodation - we went to the nearest coffee shop with our guide to Buenos Aires and called a few hotels until we found something more suitable.
