This little quaint Bed & Breakfast is in the heart of vibey Palermo, surrounded by the best restaurants in town. Further from town than your normal touristy hotel, but the subway makes access to Santa Fe & Florida very quick and easy. Rooms and bathrooms are small, but the comfortable beds and nice linen make sleep time just so much better. Victoria and Fernando are hands on hosts, helping and directing everone to the best and easiest way to tourist spots. Great continental breakfast, free internet access, lounge and patio area to make you feel at home. I will defintely go back when I am in BA again - best best value for money. Thanks to a great team!

We stayed here in April 2007 and had checked out a couple of places before finding Solar Soler and it was by far the best. The rooms were very comfortable and the relaxed communal area with free internet access was great for exchanging tips with fellow travellers or just reading something from the book exchange or magazine rack.
The B & B is well situated and we found the staff very helpful when it came to suggestions for trips or restaurants.
It's not the cheapest B & B but we thought it was very good value for money.

Victoria made us welcome and offered freshly brewed coffee, a lifesaver after a long flight and some delays.

The B & B has a very good atmosphere. Our internet booking was handled with charm over several months.

There was an enormous array of restaurants within four blocks of Solar Soler and an enjoyable tango show around the corner.

Fernando searched out an interesting 'be a guest in a home' restaurant experince for us and all the eating recommendations were excellent.

There was an internet terminal for guest use and Victoria & Fernando also searched the web for information and made inquiries and bookings for us.

Although the room and bathroom were of modest size, they were well heated and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast time was flexible and the food good. We would stay again when in Buenos Aires.

Spent a week in BA in January 2007. Had only one bad experience, when we hopped into a cab in front of a trendy restaurant in Puerto Madera. The meter was running on double time.
Literally no other bad experiences.
We stayed in the highly recommended Solar Soler B&B, walking distance to interesting accion! Go along with anything Victoria suggests, because she has great taste and will keep you away from the tacky experiences.
She set me up same day with a hair stylist around the corner for one of the best haircuts I've had.
Rather than see a tango show, we bought tickets to La Tanguera, a musical/dance performance playing downtown. Great show!!!! Not just a tourist event, but something locals attend.

If you like to sit in a restaurant wall to wall with locals, go to Pena Colorado and squeeze in. We saw a local traditional band perform. The music was excellent! Everyone knew all the words to the songs and sang along. Just folks next door. Show started at 11 pm...so, take a nap that afternoon! Around midnight, the group of older ladies behind us got a couple of bottles of Malbec and a few grill plates to get them started.

Make time for a thorough tour of the Museum of Modern Art. A real gem...with many gems inside. You can get up close to Renoirs, Rembrandts, Picassos....

Best lunch was at Desnivel's in San Telmo. Mmmmhhhmmmm, grilled slice of provolone, morcilla, tenderloin, simple salad with good tomatoes, small bottle of Malbec and agua con gas.

Spend some time at the great music store downtown, Zivals, and get yourself some tunes! We bought music by Otros Aires and Kevin Johansen, and we can't stop listening.

We took the excellent and cheap bus to the Pampas for an estancia experience near San Antonio.

Already thinking about the next time.... sigh.

We stayed here at the end of March 2007 and unfortunately because of the intense development in the area (and specifically on the building adjoining the Solar Soler) we woke up at 8am every morning to the sound of hammers driving into our brains. No sleeping in here after 2 bottles of wine the night before and forget about siesta time. Otherwise the rooms are nice (basic), beds comfortable and it is clean, airy and full of light. The staff is helpful. We particularly liked Mariano who works at night. This is a great place to use as a base for exploring Palermo Hollywood and its many restaurants. Walking back and forth to the main boutique/bar area in Palermo Soho can get tiring as it is several blocks to one of the two streets that go across the railroad tracks that separate the two neighborhoods. If it weren't for the noise, the place would be a good bargain. We spent nights in both the Honduras and Fitz Roy rooms and which were equally nice in different ways.
