We only spent one night at Soler Solar, but we really enjoyed it. The location is excellent, because Palermo is a very hip and trendy neighborhood, with great shops, restaurants, and nightlife, all very close to the B&B. Also the subway is a short walk, and the area is safe, residential, really lovely. We found some very good bakeries not far from the hotel, including one at the end of calle Fitzroy, before the intersection with Santa Fe.

The B&B is beautiful. It has a very attractive living room, warm and welcoming, with antiques, very clean and well kept. The kitchen is nice, big, very clean, and you can help yourself to juices and more. We booked last minute, and they gave us what they described as the least attractive of their rooms, facing the patio, but it was a lovely room instead! It was large, with a big and comfortable bed, elegant decorations, antique furniture and a nice armoire, terracotta floors, a/c, a large window, as well as a modern, very clean bathroom. The room was very quiet and it faced their beautiful patio.

The breakfast was good and generous, with fresh juice, croissants, cheese, fruit, coffee, and was served in their living room.

The staff was extremely nice, they gave us tips on things to do in Palermo, arranged for our cab to go to the airport, and, most important, let us use the room until we left to the airport, which was around 7pm, and it was great not having to vacate the room at the regular check out time.

I would highly recommend this b&b it really felt like home, I only wish we had spent more time there!

On the recommandation of Regina from Garufa my wife and myself booked 1 week in Solar Soler: what a surprise - well located (close to excellent restaurants, nice shops and markets, subway, etc.), nicely decorated, quiet, free internet access, good breakfast buffet (e. g. fresh juices & croissants), etc. A big PLUS are Juan & Victoria who are very helpful in recommanding restaurants, places to visit ... and organizing your excursions incl. hydrofoil, taxi. As you may realize we are very excited about our stay in Solar Soler and BA and you will be too ...

When we had to find a hotel in Buenos Aires on extremely short notice in October, Solar Soler came to the rescue. More precisely, hotel manager Juan sprang into action. He gave us a room for two nights at the hotel, which was otherwise booked, while finding us another (exceptional) place for the rest of our stay. Juan was full of good advice. Solar Soler is a friendly place nestled in the laid-back Palermo area of the city. The subway is a few blocks away, as are excellent restaurants such as Lele de Troya (at Calle Costa Rica 4901). This isn’t a luxury accommodation, but it is a very practical and comfortable base, especially for younger travelers. Families will want to seek more room and amenities. Note that the hotel is far from the sights of central B.A., so you’ll be taking a 15-minute cab ride (or a longer subway ride) each way. But if your plan is to hang out in the eateries, boutiques and parks of stylish Palermo, then this is a hotel well worth considering. Juan and his friends will take care of you.

We just stayed at the Solar Soler B&B. Overall, it's worth it for the money, but I would stay in another location for my next trip. Solar is located in Palermo Hollywood, which is a bit run down now and is getting built up. Every morning, we were awakened by construction noises from next door, and on the block there are several auto body shops and car washes (along with a nice, expesive restaurant "Osaka", which looks out of place). A better location would be Palermo Viejo, in the area of Malabia House, which is about a 20 minute walk from Hollywood and is next to the restaurants and shopping.

In terms of accomodations, the B&B is very cozy (meaning small), and the linens and towels are very old and much used. The rooms are very, very small, and the bathrooms are tiny. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful (some more than others), and the breakfast was OK. Before your trip, make sure to confirm your reservation (we ended up in a different room than promised, which wasn't a big deal, but it could matter to some.) We were actually in 2 different rooms, because they didn't have 1 available for the entire stay, and the rate was about $60 US with taxes per night. Definitely a great price, but I would have paid more for a better location, newer amenities, and a bigger room.

Hope this review helps!

Nice Bed and Breakfast in Palermo, the new "cool" part of Buenos Ayres, a few blocks away from the part where most shops, resturants and bars are.
The B&B is nice, clean and comfortable.
The common part is very cute and you really feel at home.
the best part of all is the staff: kind, nice, caring and helping.
All the suggestion they gave us were simply perfect, the help they gave in reserving and identifying places a true delight.

Only remark, the small room are really quite small, so it is better to ask for larger ones (much better value for the higher money asked) and not on the side of the street (not ta huge traffic, but a truck at night may be enough to wake you up). Rating (extremely high anyways) would have been 5 stars if I could have changed my room with one of those, think that I couldn't do as the B&B was full - book in advance!

Thank you again for the wonderful time passed there,

Mario
