The Mansion Dandi Royal is a lovely hotel situated in the charming San Telmo district of Buenos Aires. The house dates from 1903 and has been turned into a georgeous little hotel which keeps all the original features such as wood panelling and art deco design and combines this with modern comforts such as king-sized beds and clean bathrooms. The service is superb and the whole atmosphere is lovely. It's so much nicer to stay in a grand house from the turn of the last century than an anonymous and bland modern hotel room which could be anywhere in the world.
The security is also excellent.
If you're interested in learning the tango, they have a large wooden dance floor in the basement and you can take lessons.
There is also a small roof-top terrace with a modest pool.
The Mansion Dandi Royal is the nicest hotel we have stayed at during our many visits to Buenos Aires, and we will definitely go there again.
