The room was clean, neat, quiet and very functional. The staff was courteous and helpful. The continental breakfast was excellent. For what it's worth, about 80% of the guests were visiting from the Sao Paolo, Brazil area, and staff told us this is normal.

  • Liked — Convenient to many locations by cab or public transit.
  • Disliked — A balcony would have been nice.

Rooms look much bigger on the web. Actually it is tiny. The bathroom is almost inside the room, and impossible to use without getting all wet. The sink is so small, is barely there. There are no glass doors ou shower curtains on the shower.
In the other hand, the electric curtains are awesome and imposible to know if its day or night when they are down.
The breakfas is very nice. Hot and cold buffet with a good variety of bread, hams, cheese, dulce de leche, jam, etc..
Great location if you want to go shopping all the time.
The decor is very modern and pretty.

The hotel is near the port area in downtown Buenos Aires. We had the room with the balcony which was excellent. It was clean, modern and good location. It was excellent value, however we noticed that the rates increased significantly during Easter. The only downside were the staff at the desk, they seemed distant and cold.

We recently spent Christmas at this hotel and on the whole had a great time.

Unfortunatley I can´t give this hotel quite as good a review as I´d like, as sadly the thin walls rather let this place down. It also lacks any comfy chillout areas, and if you want some fresh air you have to go to a nearby park.

This hotel was the most money we´d spent on accomodation in a year away from home, and going on other reviews we had rather high expectations of it, which sadly the hotel didn´t really deliver on.

The hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are very modern and comfortable, we loved the electronic curtains (watchout though the blackout one will have you sleeping really late if you have no alarm to wake you!), and we had no problems with the bathrooms either. However saying the walls are thin is an understatement!! We actually got moved round a little bit so sampled 3 rooms all of which we found unacceptable noise wise. Due to connectining doors you can hear everything the people next door do (even if they whisper!) and if you´re unfortunate enough to end up in a smoking room as a non-smoker next doors fumes nicely come under the ajoining door too!

The breakfast was amazing though, there is hot and cold to suit all with great tea and coffee. And the staff are very helpful. Mind you the bar does close at 11pm which is strange as the rest of the city is only just waking up then!!

All in all I´d say this was an OK place for a few days, but if you´re a flashpacker thinking of blowing a little budget on it I´d say save your cash for somewhere else.

My wife and I stayed in the Vista Sol for three nights at the start of September and could find no fault with our hosts. The hotel is well located and is only a short walk to most tourist sights (Florida street is two blocks west) Although small and compact the Vista Sol has made good use of space and our room athough packed with glass and mirrors was very cosy. We were fortunate to get one of the rooms with our a deck area so maybe we had more space than the standard rooms, but the floor-to-ceiling windows kept the place bright and airy. The room had a flat screen t.v, electronic safe and a reasonably priced mini bar. (Internet access in the basement restaurant area)

A variety of options were available for breakfast from cooked to continental, and all the food was of a decent standard. The breakfast area which doubled as the restaurant in the evening was well stocked and well staffed and indeed the staff in general were friendly and helpful at all times.

This place will never be a five star hotel as it doesn't have the space to add the necessary facilities, but it is a very good hotel for it's target market - tourists/businessmen looking for a reasonably priced clean and safe hotel in a good location. As I said we couldn't fault the place and when we return to BA we would certainly have no worries about staying here again
