I have stayed at several hotels and apart hotels in Buenos Aires in the past seven years. I made an extensve and intensive search for a place to stay this time and I can say that the photos and reviews I checked before booking a room at the Tribeca were accurate: It is a great and beautiful small hotel, with great services and a great location... all for a very affordable price.
The hotel building is a former shoe factory that was completely renovated a few years ago, but it maintains the character. The courtyard is very beautiful and provides natural light to all rooms. The rooms are ample and the ceiling is very high. The furniture is modern and attractive. The bathroom is pitch clean and comfortable. A tasty and varied buffet breakfast is included in the room rate, and is served at a room on the first floor. Great coffee, croissants, pastries, fresh fruit, juice, yoghurt, etc.
The hotel has a sauna, a gym and a small pool on the fourth floor -all included in the room rate, too. Wi-fi Internet connection is included, too.
The restaurant offers good food at decent prices.
The staff are very friendly and helpful with city tips, cab reservation and wakeup call.
The hotel is at walking distance from the downtown area and the theater and bookstore district along Corrientes avenue. Don't let the street run-down appearance mislead you: Mitre may not be the prettiest street in Buenos Aires, but it's safe.
Too good to be true? It's true! I will certainly stay at the Tribeca again and will recommend it to my friends. I'm a pleased guest.
