This is a small boutique hotel in the Palermo Soho area of town. We fell in love with this area when we visited B.A. last year and couldn't wait to come back and stay at the "BoBo!" We pre-selected our room before we arrived and we stayed in the Art Deco room. It was nice, clean and very comfortable. The closet was small, and not much furniture, but we had alot of room to spread out our suitcases so it worked out well.
It is a small hotel and the staff was quite personable so we enjoyed our time with them. We were offered a complimentary bar drink and my husband tried the Pisco Sour which he found to be quite refreshing and excellent. Since we were heading to Santiago de Chile within a few days, he wanted to get acquainted with their signature drink.
The breakfast was not a buffet but ordered off a menu. We thought this was a welcome change from steam table items as everything was hot and fresh. Apparently, BoBo is a breakfast place for the local business people as it was quite crowded when we arrived early the first morning, but no one was there when we came later the second day.
Their menu for dinner looked great, but we had other plans and did not indulge, but would if we came back.
The BoBo is in a great location to explore Palermo Soho, but yet not too far from Santa Fe Avenue and the parks and gardens near Plaza Italia. We were not concerned about walking at night to local restaurants, but did try to stay on the main walkways.
The stores are quite stylish in this neighborhood and it reminds me of a mixture of high end West Hollywood and teenage Melrose Ave in Los Angeles, or a mixture of Greenwich Village and Soho in NYC. The restaurants are certainly the kind to write home about. We tried Bar Uriate, but did not care for it, but were extremely pleased with La Cabrera and Cluny. We had lunch at Cluny during our first visit a year ago and had to come back. We can't imagine anyone not liking La Cabrera. My husband had the beef, with the 13 side dishes that they serve with it, and I had the pasta with sun dried tomatoes. It was homemade fusilli - perfectly cooked and very flavorful. We also went to La Cupertina for empanadas and dessert, the women running the restaurant are so friendly and the empanadas, while perhaps not the best, are certainly ones to experience.
We would definitely return to the BoBo Hotel and understand how it was rated so high in Trip Advisor reader surveys. Don't forget to check out their site on line and book early to get the room you want..
