I had read raves about the BoBo and was lucky enough to get a reservation during the "winter" season in July 2006. For the most part, the hotel earned every one of its raves. Let me start with the Staff: awesome ! Though my room was'nt ready when I arrived at 8am, they allowed me to "crash" on a sofa and had my room ready by 11am. The Waiters, Bartenders, and Concierge were all first class - although I find just about everyone in Buenos Aires is friendly. The Staff booked me on the "buquebus" for a day trip to Uruguay and gave me recommendations of things to do while I was there. The restuarant was amazing in the Bobo. The rooms were nice - yes a little noisy but I did'nt smell any smoke while I was there. The Argentenian Room is the one to get if you can - I also stayed in the "Traditional" room for two nights and it was nice but yes a bit noisy. My only gripe about the Bobo - the location. It is off the beaten path in a residential area that is a little scary. If you want something closer to the Microcentro or Recoleta, the Bobo is probably not for you you. Otherwise, go for it - but book in advance - I have planned 2 subsequent trips to BA and could not get a room at the BoBo.
