Most of the good reviews we read prior to staying here were pretty accurate. The BoBo is a lovely boutique hotel, meaning amenities are nonexistent, making it is more like a B&B. The BoBo is also a restaurant and wine bar. The restaurant seemed pretty happening on the weekend.
It’s located in the Palermo Soho area of BA, which is very similar to the lower east side of Manhattan. The neighborhood has a bohemian vibe to it. It’s far from the downtown area so site seeing requires a bit of walking, subway riding, and taxiing. The area is however filled with a bunch of trendy bars and restaurants. Since it’s in the culture to eat dinner so late, around 10pm or so, and to stay out so late, around 4 am or so, it’s nice to be in a comfortable walking distance of these places.
Each room is different and has its own personal charm. We stayed in “Argentina”, room 5, part of the time and “Pop”, room 1, as well. Room 5 was supposed to be the nicest room there and it was a bit more spacious and brighter when compared to room 1. All in all I was pretty satisfied with my stay; I just had a very minor complaint with the cleanliness of the towels & rooms. The floors were a little dirty and some of the towels appeared slightly stained, both of which are pretty minor issues.
Finally the service was exceptional. No matter what the hour of the day or night it was there was always someone at the front desk to greet you and see if all of your needs were being met. The entire staff was very friendly and spoke English fluently, which is nice since Portenian Spanish is difficult to follow at times.
Dr. Endo’s Top 3 Do’s:
#1: Ask for the Argentina Room
It’s their nicest room and it’s not that much more than the other rooms.
#2: Fill out the pre-arrival survey
They’ll have a little customized folder of brochures and what not for things you may want to do.
#3: Attend their free wine tasting if you can
If you are considering bringing home some new world wine and aren’t too familiar with Argentinean wine, it’s a nice chance to try a decent array of wines. They even sell assorted cases of wine there for your convenience.
