We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bobo Hotel. Yes, we did hear the construction but I'm not sure there is anything they could have done about it- it was going on next door. The towels were very thin, I imagine during the renovations they will change that. The Bobo is a very cool hotel with wonderful staff! They made reservations for us, called us cabs, gave us recommendations (which were excellent) and called us by name. They let us check in early, and check out late with no penalty which was wonderful! The staff at the bar was great, we loved to sit at the bar each night for a glass of wine before dinner, or a nightcap. Would definitely recommend the hotel, and would stay there again if we go back to B.A.

I spent the nights of June 6 and 7, 2009 at Bobo, and stayed at the minimalist room (number 3). My first impression of the hotel was poor, having arrived in town at 3 pm on Saturday, and being unable to get some rest in the room due to the drilling and hammering going on next door. I would have appreciated the staff warning me about this fact at the time of making the booking. The noise can be extremely loud, and is supposed to continue for a while (I checked with the front desk as to when they expected the construction work to be over).
A second element that reduced my enthusiasm for the hotel was the poorly made bed (wrinkled sheets included), the low quality of the towels and bath robes provided, and the fact that the housekeepers did not provide me during my stay with shower caps and on one occasion even forgot to leave soap.
On the positive side, the front desk staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.

My wife and I returned recently from Buenos Aires. Bobo Hotel was everything we could have hoped for in terms of a hotel. A few highlights:

**The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. I never once felt like a bother to them even though we asked many questions each morning and afternoon. They went above and beyond their job descriptions.

**The free breakfast offered multiple choices and was a great value. The waiters were extremely personable and knowledgeable.

**The hotel offered a free wine tasting that was informative and interesting.

**The housekeeping staff kept the hotel spotless.

**The restaurant downstairs is a great option if you don't feel like going out. We ate lunch there and it was excellent.

**The location of the hotel is perfect. We enjoyed the fact that you could tour the "touristy" sections of BA during the day and return to Palermo and have the choice of multiple restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

In summary, I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly to anyone who might consider staying there. They helped our vacation be all that we hoped it would be. We would like to extend special thanks to Max, Vanesa, and Cecilia for all their advice and help during our stay.

Most of the good reviews we read prior to staying here were pretty accurate. The BoBo is a lovely boutique hotel, meaning amenities are nonexistent, making it is more like a B&B. The BoBo is also a restaurant and wine bar. The restaurant seemed pretty happening on the weekend.

It’s located in the Palermo Soho area of BA, which is very similar to the lower east side of Manhattan. The neighborhood has a bohemian vibe to it. It’s far from the downtown area so site seeing requires a bit of walking, subway riding, and taxiing. The area is however filled with a bunch of trendy bars and restaurants. Since it’s in the culture to eat dinner so late, around 10pm or so, and to stay out so late, around 4 am or so, it’s nice to be in a comfortable walking distance of these places.

Each room is different and has its own personal charm. We stayed in “Argentina”, room 5, part of the time and “Pop”, room 1, as well. Room 5 was supposed to be the nicest room there and it was a bit more spacious and brighter when compared to room 1. All in all I was pretty satisfied with my stay; I just had a very minor complaint with the cleanliness of the towels & rooms. The floors were a little dirty and some of the towels appeared slightly stained, both of which are pretty minor issues.

Finally the service was exceptional. No matter what the hour of the day or night it was there was always someone at the front desk to greet you and see if all of your needs were being met. The entire staff was very friendly and spoke English fluently, which is nice since Portenian Spanish is difficult to follow at times.

Dr. Endo’s Top 3 Do’s:

#1: Ask for the Argentina Room
It’s their nicest room and it’s not that much more than the other rooms.

#2: Fill out the pre-arrival survey
They’ll have a little customized folder of brochures and what not for things you may want to do.

#3: Attend their free wine tasting if you can
If you are considering bringing home some new world wine and aren’t too familiar with Argentinean wine, it’s a nice chance to try a decent array of wines. They even sell assorted cases of wine there for your convenience.
