Having read all the positive reviews about Bobo on tripadvisor I was happy to book this hotel. Its location in Palermo Soho was good. There are lots of places to eat nearby. THe subte really is only 10 mins walk away and even on first day in SOuth America was easy to use. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Bed had a pillowtop mattress- really comfy after 24 hours travelling. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and the coffee was some of the best I had in South America (coffee was really disappointing overall). The staff were pleasant and polite but not overly friendly. I didn't feel so impressed that I wanted to eat in the restaurant in the evening. There were plenty of other places I wanted to try.

Overall nicest place I stayed, but then also the most expensive.

Good, but not superlative (the Home Hotel is better)

We stayed in the Bobo Hotel Pop room for one night at the tail end of an Argentina vacation. We had also stayed in the Home Hotel (in a different part of the same Palermo neighborhood) a week previously at the beginning of our trip. Both are small boutique hotels with a strong design sensibility. But we much preferred the Home. Admittedly, the Pop room is the cheapest room in the BoBo Hotel (it is small and faces the street), and while the decorations are nice, it felt kind of run down. There is a restaurant and bar in-house. We had drinks and breakfast but not dinner. The tables and chairs in the restaurant/bar are not very comfortable so we didn't feel like lingering too long. However, the staff is very nice, helpful, and speaks English. The hotel does have an elevator, which is good. My general impression of the BoBo is that it is a bit overhyped. While it is a nice place to stay, it doesn't match the superlative reviews that I have read.

  • Liked — It was located very close to the most exciting part of the Palermo neighborhood.
  • Disliked — The infrastructure felt a bit run down and the seating in the restaurant was uncomfortable.

We stayed at the BoBo for our last night in Buenos Aires, at the end of our two week visit to Argentina and Uruguay.

The BoBo was very pleasant, but I found our room (the Pop room) to be more worn than I expected for such a highly rated property. The sheets were dingy and grey, the finishes on the furnture were worn and the carpet was stained. Also, the lock box is only big enough for personal papers and cash - you can't fit anything bigger than a point-and-shoot camera into it.

The staff was helpful, but were not really engaging. I'd say that they were nice, but not friendly.

Breakfast at the BoBo was outstanding - probably the best breakfasts we had the whole trip, with crisp medialunas (as opposed to commercial ones) and made to order eggs if you wanted them.

Overall, I'd say the BoBo is very nice, and well located for Palermo shopping, but it wasn't the stellar experience I expected it to be.

  • Liked — Great location for Palermo shopping
  • Disliked — Worn furniture, could have been cleaner.

I have little to add to the other glowing comments. We stayed at Bobo for 6 days and loved every minute. The staff - Vanessa, Gabriella, Max and Martin - were absolutely fantastic. True professionals and beautiful people. Plus, Palermo Soho is a wonderful neighborhood, with tons of great restaurants nearby.
