Got to the hotel at mid-night. No one at the door. Pulled my bags from the Taxi.

Frontdesk folks unfriendly and not polite. They really didnt care about me.

Room was horrifically dirty. Hairs on both the bed and bathroom. Lot's of dirt on lamps, table etc. Asked for a room change but didn't get one. Noisy because windows didn't seal the street sounds. Courtains aren't big enough to cover the whole windows area !!!

I didn't have courage to take breakfast. If the room was that dirt, I can't image what's in that food.

Went to the gym at morning. It has got nothing to do with the picture on the site.

To their credit, when I decided to leave the hotel, their manager came to talk to me. Too late.

Perfect Base for the BA Sights

We just spent four nights in the Madero which we used as a base for touring the top BA sights- Microcento, Recoleta, San Telmo, La Boca. These are all witin walking distance, so the hotel is perfectly located. The Puerto Madero is a wonderful rehabilitation/new development are, all flashy and new but not without a soul. However, if you want to be in a "historic" part of town, this is not the place for you.

Plenty of restaurants nearby- but we found out that the ones in San Telmo and Palermo are more atmosheric than the establishments in Puerto Madero.

As to the hotel- the rooms are huge (our standard room included a balcony and a separate bar area), most with great views. The breakfast is a fine collection, the bar is nice with great (dangerously so) cocktails. And the rooftop pool and deck are just pure bliss at the end of a long day of sightseeing.

So if you're looking for a base for your BA sightseeing, look no further!

We booked this at the last minute using the wotif website and were pleased to find a lovely clean, fresh, modern hotel. I usually prefer to stay in charming, boutique hotels when I'm on holiday rather than these business-style hotels but we had to change hotels suddenly and didn't have much choice.

It was £150 per night which was more than we had planned to spend but it was worth this as we had a large room with a separate bar area, lovely duvet on the bed, efficient air-conditioning, balcony, large bathroom and use of spa and gym. My only complaint was the lack of robes and slippers which actually arrived on the last day.

The location was better than we expected as it was a short walk to San Telmo, a slightly longer walk to Plaza Mayor and close to the great restaurants and bars in the waterfront diques. We ate at La Caballeriza one night and it was excellent.

  • Liked — very comfortable
  • Disliked — business-style hotel with busy breakfast area

Beautiful and modern hotel, though it's a little noisy. The rooms are very nice and the room service is great; the staff is also very friendly, but my complain is about the location: it's in Puerto Madero, but a little far from the more popular restaurants and other neighbourhoods. it's not a problem considering the very cheap taxi fares, but if you enjoy walking when visiting a new place, it's not a good place (though it's safe to walk in Puerto Madero, even at midnight).

  • Liked — Very nice room and service
  • Disliked — Far from the most popular places
