This was a nice, clean 2 star hotel in a great central location in Buenos Aires. We stayed at another 2 star and were comparitively very impressed by the Hispano. The courtyard, great staff, and patio were nice additions to the smallish rooms and great location. We would definitely stay there again.

Pros: Great location, nice staff, clean, nice ambiance, free wireless internet.

Cons: No windows...only french doors with shudders, central AC only sometimes works, lots of misquotes & hard to keep out if hot, small rooms, bathroom & shower...same thing, only accept cash.

At first we were appalled by how small the bathrooms were. Standing in the shower without any part of your body touching the shower curtain, was a difficult feat. But as we fell in love with Buenos Aires, we also fell in love with the charming hotel with the tiled courtyard, skylight, complimentary bottle of wine and the free Internet.

While using the computer one day, a middle aged man came up to me and in what I can only described as American English, asked me how much the fee was to use the internet. When I told him it was free, he broke into a big smile and exclaimed " Hey, that's great." The person who complained about the computer,had not been to other South American countries where the hotels charged us for using the Internet or asked us to buy Internet prepaid cards.

Part of its charm is being on Avenida de Mayo, close to bus routes and the " antique" subway. With the Cathedral and Casa Rosada on one end and the park and the Obelisk on the other, and the Tortoni Cafe next door, all within walking distance, it was the perfect place to call home in that city.

The helpful staff had also arranged city tours, a visit to the Estancia de Santa Susana and arranged for tickets to a Tango show, which is not to be missed.

When I return ( note that I said when and not if) to Buenos Aires, I certainly am going to stay at this hotel again, the small bathrooms, notwithstanding. Maybe by then, they would have removed the bidet and enlarged the shower stall.

By the way, we also visited 5 other cities in 3 other countries in South America but no other city there, touched my soul as did Buenos Aires.

Lovely little hotel in the middle of Buenos Aires. We stayed in a four star over the weekend and the only difference between them both is that you can get room service in the four star.

The rooms are clean, the staff are very friendly and I would definitely stay here again if I came back to Buenos Aires.
