Really Enjoyed staying at the Claridge. Stayed for two days earlier in the week. It is very centrally located in Buenos Aires - excellent access to restaurants, bars and shopping. The professionalism of the staff is also outstanding. Let me do a late checkout on my last day, so I could stay in my hotel room until 4pm and then had an Irish coffee in the hotel bar while waiting for my ride to the airport. The room itself is stylish, with a Minibar (very reasonably priced), hotel safe etc. and there is a coffee /tea maker in the room which is somewhat rare in Argentina. The breakfast is very comprehensive and brilliant and included in the room prize and there is a very good chance of hearing some nice piano music, while sipping an afternoon cocktail before heading on an afternoon walk through the bustle of Florida street. My only criticism is that I had two single beds that I found somewhat uncomfortable. I really enjoyed however that the room was reasonably large and could enjoy my afternoon cigar. If you are interested in swimming or working out - there is an excellent gym and pool as well as massage center on the second floor. Apparently, many famous tennis stars, "Jimmy Connors' & "Borg" have visited here. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed in Claridge in two occassions early 2007, late February for 2 nights and early March for 5 nights. The rooms on both visits were clean and comfortable, thouhg on the second room we had I have to admit the bathroom was quite tiny.

The hotel is well situated right in the middle of best shopping streets. Within walking distance to Puerto Madero, Av 9 Julio etc. Even though we ate most nights in other parts of the city, I did not mind, as taxi's are ridiculously cheap. It never costs more than 2-3 euros, no matter where you go. Or at least that seemed to be the case.

The best part of this hotel is the staff!!! You really feel welcome and well taken care of when staying in Claridge. All your needs are taken care of, restaurant booking, sightseeing visits. My boyfriend did not receive his luggage until few days later and as always one worries where it is. The hotel staff helped us a lot tracking down the suitcase, keeping us informed and ASAP letting us know when it arrived.

Also, the hotel bar is excellent. You feel like a gueen and king enjoying afternoon tea or snacks and drinks like we did most days. The service is excellent and you always get a smile on top of it!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone!

Would definitely recommend the Claridge hotel for any visit to Buenos Aires. In response to the last reviewer that was a guest in April 07 as well; the superior rooms have safes and an ample living space. True the bathroom is cramp, but because of the location, staff and other amenities (free buffet breakfast every day) the bathroom issue seems incredibly minor. The hotel is located steps from a major shopping street (Florida) and is near the theater district. My room faced the street, but because of the double pane windows I could open and get fresh air and close easily to block out the street noise. I thought the staff exceptional; everyone was always helpful and kind. Pablo the concierge was fantastic, I cannot say enough about how great he was, patient and never rushed –giving each guest his full attention. Also very nice and helpful Mercedes on the breakfast buffet staff and all of housekeeping. A wonderful stay and I will return.

Loved the Claridge and will definitely return. The location is great - half a block from the main shopping street of Calle Florida. We found PLENTY of restaurants in the area, including one excellent steakhouse two or three doors away. We walked to/from Recoleta a number of times but cabs are inexpensive by big city standards so it was a short, cheap ride to most places. Easy walk to Plaza San Martin and Plaza Mayo.

The room whilst nicely furnished and spotlessly clean was very small..the bathroom laughably so. Despite being at the front of the hotel, the windows were double glazed so no noise at all from the busy little street below. A safe would have been nice but a key was provided for the wardrobe so we simply locked our stuff in there and took the key with us.

Breakfast, pool and massages (needed after long days walking/shopping) were great.

Staff were generally very good and helpful but the letdown here was the bar off the lobby where, with one or two exceptions, the service was deplorably slow and very arrogant.

Overall, we'd return to the Claridge - for $USD129 + the dreaded 21% IVA, we thought it was outstanding value.

We had a great time at the Claridge. We were upgraded to the penthouse, so we probably had one of the best rooms, so I will avoid the obvious great perks of the penthouse. The overall feel of the hotel was elegant and old world. This translates to: it is a nice hotel today, but probably magnificant 15 years ago. They could use some upgrades in the rooms and overall decor. There were thick, heavy drapes and older carpets and bedspreads. Our room had sofas which were older too. The room also had a fax machine with a roll of fax paper next to it! How funny is that?

The bathroom was wonderful though! It had two sinks and really nice fixtures. They had robes and slippers and lots of toiletries (unrecognizable brands). We had a jacuzzi and a glass shower.

Breakfast was included and was fine. It had everything you needed, nothing too fancy though. They had very attentive waiteresses. The hotel was in a great location, right in the downtown close to everything.
