We just stayed here and found it a great value for money in the heart of the shopping district in Buenos Aires. Its white columned facade opens into an oasis from the noise and traffic. The staff is excellent, from sweet bellboys and breakfast attendants and a pool attendant who was helping a guest learn how to dive. In some 5-star hotels, the staff act snobby or, at the other extreme, obsequious, whereas here they are genuinely friendly. We had a corner room on a high floor that faced the pool, and it was spacious, impeccably clean, and nicely furnished. Request a pool-facing rather than street-facing room to avoid street noise, and if you get a small room as some here have complained, just request another. The room had free wireless internet and the maid put in Xmas cakes at night, which was a nice touch. Fine pool area too, bigger than other BA city hotels we know, and breakfast was much better than other 5-star Argentine hotels we stayed in. It's considerably cheaper than Marriott, Sheratons, Sofitel, Park Hyatt, and others we checked. Had worried about room being shabby or small after reading some critics here, but not at all. My only caveat would be that if you want quiet and trees or a residential district, this downtown area is not for you.
