The hotel is in a very safe location where you can walk about 10 minutes in one direction and arrive at Plaza San Martin, or you can walk about 15 minutes in the other direction and arrive at the Plaza de Mayo. You could not ask to be more perfectly located. If you want to venture further away, the doorman can make taxis (very cheap...definitely use these!) appear as if by magic.

Staff was very efficient and friendly, and every member we met spoke perfect English. Breakfast buffet was quite good with an array of meats, cheeses, and fruits along with some hot dishes that varied each day. One observation is that the cash exchange rate at the hotel front desk was the most competitive we found in the city. Far better than the airport, and slightly better than the exchange houses on Florida Street. Definitely consider exchanging your dollars here.

The only thing that keeps me from giving this hotel 5 stars is the size of the rooms. Our room was quite small and did not have a lot of space for opening a suitcase or walking around the bed while the closet door was open. The bathrooms were also small, and it was difficult to stand looking in the bathroom mirror without banging your leg on the bidet. However, the room was very pleasantly decorated and had all amenities you would expect from a 5-star hotel.

Bottom line, I would happily stay there again on future visits to BA.

Just returned from a five night stay at the Claridge. This was my first time to BA so I didn't mind being in the Microcenter which was easy walking distance to all the sights. The area is abit iffy at night but I felt alot safer in BA that I do in downtown London or Paris.

I was VERY impressed with the staff at the Claridge top to bottom and can't imagine a more helpful hotel. Especially for a first time visitor, this made a huge difference. Also very friendly bar staff and excellent breakfasts buffet, as has been mentioned. I paid $109 a night for a queen bed, which included airport pickup. My room faced the rear, a vista of ugly buildings. I know there are cheaper places but my other choice, the Loisuites Recoleta, was $150/nt without airport transport. These prices do not include the 21% VAT. The Loisuites lobby looked very nice and offered much more space so I may try them next time.

My only issue was with the room itself - not large nor particulary characterful and with an impossibly small and poorly designed bathroom. Also the walls are thin so I heard loud snoring from next door - not a nice feeling. Also the room wasn't very ventilated and the hotel uses very strong frangrances when cleaning. I tend to spend a fair amount of time in my room and was sorry it wasn't nicer, since I really liked the people. The pool wasn't open since it was mid winter but I can see that as a wonderful bonus in the Summer.

If I go back to BA, I would love to have the same hotel but know I will probably choose another if only to avoid that useless bidet. Such a shame since the staff and bar are so excellent.

We have just returned form an eight day stay at this hotel and I just had to log on to Trip Advisor and let people know how fantastic this hotel really is!! As far as location matters, you will not get better than this. As the days went on, we realised this more and more and the city became more manageable becauce we were staying on its doorstep.

I think the first impressions when you see this hotel will remain with you for a long while as it is so grand and regal looking, although its just on the side of a very narrow street. The lobby is vast and has those fantastic high old ceilings, the whole area makes you feel very important indeed!!

Yes the rooms are smaller than one would hope and the bathrooms are tiny but small price to pay for staying at this wonderful hotel! Staff are efficient and you will feel like you have stepped back in time or on to a movie set everytime you enter from the chaotic wonder that is Buenos Aires!

Just wish I was back there now.....

This was the first hotel in a three location trip to South America, and it turned out to be by far the best.

From a very central location, right in the heart of Buenos Aires, you can get to all the city centre attractions within minutes, and mostly on foot.

The hotel exterior is bright and impressive, and as you walk through the doors, you enter an impressive lobby area, which makes you feel immediately that you have probably made the right choice of hotel.

All staff, including the doorman, reception staff, bell boys, maids, bar staff and restaurant staff, provide excellent, friendly and intelligent service, and you only had to mention something once and it was done immediately.

Rooms were small, but very well quipped, food absolutely excellent, and prices very cheap (but this is a reflection of the Argentine economy at present rather than an individual hotel).

Having travelled around the world, I would put this boutique hotel in my top 10 for service and value.

Very comfortable, as you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. Excellent location, though ask for a room at the back - the ones at the front get quite noisy in the morning. Polite and helpful staff, great breakfasts - a big buffet of pastries, cheeses, hams, bacon and eggs and a rather random 'hot dish' (it was stew one day!). Best thing about this hotel is being able to go for an afternoon swim after walking around the dusty streets all morning.

Downsides are that the rooms are a little charmless - just your standard business style hotel. Booked through the internet this hotel is a little cheaper than other 4 star hotels in downtown BA, but still quite pricey by Argentinian standards.
