I stayed at the Claridges hotel on a budget around the world trip - I had decided before leaving that I would treat myself to an expensive hotel in one city on the journey, and I chose Buenos Aires - I'm glad I did!

The hotel itself is very impressive looking from the outside, it is on a side street off one of the main shopping roads (florida street), so location wise it is perfect for exploring the city. We found it an excellent base within the city, and walked everywhere. I would definatly describe it as a very British hotel, they even did a sunday dinner whilst we were there (DON''T have the yorkshire puddings, they are sweet!!)

The bar area is lovely and very relaxing, though not cheap. But the cocktails are fabulous!

The rooms are spacious and airy, with good views of the city. Good powerful showers also, which I feel is quite important. We were very impressed with the staff, they are very helpful in organizing things for you, for example tango shows; we were given detailed descriptions of locations/budgets etc, and also their personal opinions, which I appreciate.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Buenos Aires but be warned, the internet is SHOCKING! There were 3 computers in the room when we were there, which constantly crashed. It was rather frustrating, so if you do go, I would say do not bother trying as you find yourself restarting over and over again, convinced that they will work, but alas, no! There are however some very cheap internet cafes about 5minutes away, which were fully sufficient.

Have fun!

Back to the Claridge for five nights in December, after a three-year absence. Struck lucky with a high-floor, non-smoking, corner room (913), totally free of street/lift/neighbour noise, but can appreciate the comments about the smallness of the bathrooms. Pool and health club still v. good, especially after a day's intensive shopping/sightseeing. Breakfast well off the pace, though, with erratic re-provision of fruit and synthetic-tasting juices. Very limited choice of newspapers in the racks at the entrance (unlike last time, when you could always pick up that morning's Herald). Staff still v. friendly and helpful: their transfer arrangements were top-class, but check-out was a bit of a scrum. Maybe the fact that the secret's finally out about the fantastic value on offer in Bs As (certainly to pound/euro-spending visitors) means that they are struggling a bit to keep up with the greater numbers of guests. We may consider one of the boutique places next time, especially if we go outside the peak summer season, when the availability of a pool won't be so important.

  • Liked — Central location; pool; friendly staff
  • Disliked — Breakfast less good than it used to be

Hotel is a in very crowded location in downtown close to florida street. Bfast is included and internet is free but it is wired and not wireless except for on the 2nd floor. free biz center - one of the concierge is really helpful and so are the bellman. You can get great deals on this hotel.

Would recommend this hotel and had a great stay.
