After having read the reviews of the Amerian here and seen a recommendation for it in a guide book we decided to use it as our base for four nights in Buenos Aires. What an excellent desicion! The location was superb - we could walk to Calle Florida, Plaza San Martin, Plaza de Mayo, and Puerto Madero. For anywhere else we wanted to go, taxis were easy to find and the rides were short and inexpensive. The rooms were large and comfortable. The only downside was the shower which just had a glass wall across half of it and very strong water pressure which meant when we first turned it on we showered the whole bathroom! We soon figured out how to do it, but it was also a bit tricky getting in and out of it with the wall there. Otherwise everything was great. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of different choices and the hotel staff were quite helpful. There was also free internet in the lobby with three computers and we were usualy able to find a time when we could get on one of them - very helpful when we had to change plans at the last minute. Last, but not least, we had a little balcony off our room that was nice for going out to check the weather before leaving for the day or evening. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a reasonably priced, comfortable, convenient location in Buenos Aires.

“Nice room but location not great”

We stayed there one night in February. The room was large and comfortable. The staff were very helpful.

The location was not especially good unless you came to do power shopping. It's very close to Florida St. The hotel has large tour groups that take up a lot of the lobby as they are checking in.

There isn't much of a restaurant and you have to walk a number of blocks to get to a restaurant. The area is commercial and not residential so it's not that pleasant to walk in at night. The price was good but I would rather stay in the hotel in Recoleta where it is more pleasant to walk.

Just got back from my trip to Buenos Aires and I stayed at this hotel for four nights and don't regret it at all. Everyone in the staff was helpful with information and very pleasant. The breakfast was great. It had so many choices, great fruit even delicious brownies! There are pcs for internet use at your disposal in the lobby. The room was spacious enough for two people and the marble bathroom was great. The hotel was located in a great area. It was so close to everything. Galerias Pacifica which is the shopping mall was only a block away as well as Florida street (pedestrian street). You can also walk to Puerto Madero, Plaza San Martin and Plaza Mayo. I noticed a lot of other hotels were in an alley, hardly noticeable. This was great with a big u shaped driveway and big lobby. If I ever go again I would definitely stay here as well as I would recommend it to anyone.

“Good Experience at the Amerian Park”

Amerian Buenos Aires Park Hotel

We recently returned from a four night stay at the Amerian Park. The hotel was very nice, in a good location downtown, with access to various types of transportation (bus, subway, taxis, etc.) The staff were nice--the front desk staff were helpful, but the porters/bellhops were incredible. They offered terrific dining suggestions, and were so kind and helpful. One thing to note--most of the rooms have two double beds, or one double bed.

“great experience”

Amerian Buenos Aires Park Hotel

We chose this hotel from travel guides and tripadvisor reviews. the hotel was very clean, very comfortable, nicely decorated, with adequate fitness room, great breakfast, marble bathrooms, bathrobes, in room safe, and wonderful staff. We speak very little Spanish, they spoke English and were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Hotel is two streets from Florida Street and also walking distance from Puerto Madero, Plaza de Mayo, Plaza San Martin. We (two women aged 53 and 81) stayed 8 days. We would definitely go back. It was great. Full of tourists and business people from all over, but esp SA.

There are good restaurants close by -especially liked the restaurant in the Santa Catalina cloister (corner of San Martin and Viamonte - one block from hotel) where we ate lunch - a bit pricey for BA but beautifully presented and delicious, including wine - 68 pesos each. Jeweller one block away on viamonte towards Florida Street had beautiful contemporary silver pieces with semi-precious stones. Also used Eurotur, on viamonte where a very helpful agent booked a great two day package to Iguazu. Cheap cab ride to Recoletta,Palermo, San Telmo, La Boca etc. Free internet in lobby

Busy area during the day but not noisy in room. Very quiet on streets after 7 or 8 so we often walked out for dinner and took taxi back.

took city tour recommended by hotel which was good and reasonable. All hotel recommendations for tours, tango shows, restaurants were good except for Al Carbon about three blocks away which we did not like - could have been an off night but glass of champagne with hotel referal did not materialize, beef chewy (unusual for BA), service a bit snobby but otherwise nice ambiance and appeared to have a great wine list.
