“Lovely walk along riverside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

I would recommend visiting this part of town, we enjoyed a long walk along the river in this tranquil upmarket part of town. We didnt eat there but the restaurants looked lovely. A nice break after the touristy madness that was plaza de mayo

“Lacks personality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Puerto Madero is clean and has a nice broad walkway next to the water but it doesn't have the history and charm of other parts of the city (ex. Recoleta, Belgrano, San Telmo). It's a nice place to take a stroll, though, and there are good dining options with outdoor seating along the water. Also in the 'hood is a pretty good tango option in Madero Tango and nice museum with Fortabat at the opposite end of the waterway.

“Nice walk along the port”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Very nice to walk along the port. We also noticed several couples walking very early in the morning (2 AM) as we were checking out of the hotel. It's a good and safe area that's close to almost all attractions.

“New Years Day Is not the Day to Go”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Almost 98% of Buenos Aires closes on Christmas and New Years Day. So you will be hard pressed to find any venue or restaurant open. But dur to lack of traffic a wonderful day to walk by the water and see the city.

“Impressive Port Area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

Was very impressed with the old port area that has been converted into restaurants, shops, and even a university. A stroll along the old wares is safe and pleasant. It is well lit and patrolled by Navy police. 100 year old ships are docked along the quay. Across the port are modern office buildings. Restaurants are a bit pricey, but very good.
