Owner description: Architectural landmarks in the city’s oldest neighborhood have been restored, and this revitalized area is distinctly artistic, with cafes, antique shops, cobblestone streets and lots of artists and dancers.

“Lovely area in Argentina”

A place to walk and shopping...very nice places to have a lunch with friends. Like the food and the easy way to take a cab.

“Sunday street market along Defensa worth the trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

The Sunday street market along the entire length of Defensa was an interesting way to see the art/crafts/tourist junk that is offered for sale in Buenos Aires. Add in the 'local color' (street vendors selling barbeque & grilled meats for lunch, etc.), and it's a great way to spend several hours. Total distance is about 2 miles, ends in Plaza Dorrego, where several 'street tango' performers entertained the crowds.

“Sunday market!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Be sure to visit the market that happens there every Sunday. All sorts of wonderful things to buy and see! It goes on and on for many blocks. La Brigida is the renowned steakhouse right in the area as well.

“The best part of BA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Visit on a Sunday - get lost in the magic atmosphere of the antique market and street entertainers! Take time to browse - we ended up buying a 1950's HORNBY train set and bringing it home to England!

“Sunday amusement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

Gotta go on the weekend (Sunday), to catch the feel of the place. Bit more boring on the weekdays, as it's no where near as crowded and fun. Lot of "junk", lot of "stuff", but if you are into that sort of thing, well worth the time to do it!
