“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

The thing that makes this museum stand out is the fact that it is situated in what was once the family home of the Errazuriz family. This gave the visit a personal feel. While you are walking round a Paris inspired mansion, built with all the finest materials from Europe, you are also looking at some of the finest works of art from Europe & the Orient too. The family had money and were big collectors! The great hall is awesome. Instructions were given that it had to be built large enough to hang 3 wonderful tapestries which had been bought before the house was started. The tasteful piped music helps you imagine the great occasions that must have been held in this room. As to the art - there are several statues by Rodin and upstairs in what was one of the bedrooms there is reportedly one of the most important collections of miniatures. In every room there is an English description of what the room was used for and/or go on an excellent guided tour for their very informative insight into the house & the art. We were tempted to list some of the amazing individual items - but say instead ..... go look for yourself - definitely worth a visit

“Worth every moment spent here.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

This museum is worth a visit. It is situated in a beautiful private home and has some great artwork. Every room in the house is spectacular from the large sized windows to the lovely stair cases. It is not too large and not overwhelming like most museums are. Once you come out of the museum you can check out the really beautiful garden and also have a cup of coffee at the cafe located in the garden.

“Historical place in the heart of BA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

This amazing manor which belonged to the Errázuriz Alvear family is now a stunning museum which exhibits incredible pieces from Argentine artists and artists around the world.
It is well located and with easy access from any point in the city. The guides are very experienced in art and have a vast background on it and they are very friendly and willing to answer questions.
In the central hall, you can have some coffee and rest while listening to classical music which sets the tone and creates a soothing atmosphere.
