Have just returned from a stay at the hilton and could not have been more delighted, the rooms are great, a really good size with a desk and comfy chairs and a table, the cable gets quite a few english channels and there was plenty of flims on, they also show the latest series of favs like the west wing which we havent got over here yet, there are three telephones in the room, one in the toilet which I have never had before, the bathrooms are spaceous with seperate walk in shower and walk in toliet, the bath is big enough for too, well stacked with a range of toiltries. The rooms have beutiful views of the docks and are in the best area of the city

The staff all speak really good english and could not be more helpful, just phone down if you need anything and it gets sent straight up. We reserved dinner at the last minute one night, there is a gorgeous buffet for about 45 pesos including wine, coke etc, they have a tango show which is great, it doesnt go on too late, we were on the seventh floor so there was no noise from downstairs and had the added bonus of being close to pop into the complementary sauna, gym swimming pool they have there,

The lobby is great they have a man playing the piano and the atmosphere is really relaxed, drinks are cheap and they keepo brining over free bar snaks to nibble on, you can go there to just relax if you dont want a drink, they have a lovely deli where they do fantastic pastries, little hand made mini cakes for 20pence chocolate ones are gorgous like chcoalte torts mmmmm they also do big cakes, the shop is well stocked and reasonably priced and great for last minute gifts,

Breakfast is the best I have been to you can have buffet or ala carte and the amount of food is unbeliavble, must have been over 70 things, all the usual hot things like bacon, sausage pancakes, eggs cooked to order, lovely omlettes fresh fruit, nuts yougurts, meats chesses, lovely pastrys try the little crossiant type things whith a jar of dulce de leche

We got an early check in and late check out at no extra cost, if you look for something close to do you can get a free taxi to the galeries pacifico which has the best designer shops and is fifteen blocks from the hotel, the street next to it has a brilliant range of shops to choose from. If you need help to choose where to go to the hilton have a book in everyone room with suggestions of the best sites in each area, across the road to eat at night is the cabana las lilas well worth a vist

We spent one night accidentally at the Hilton Puerto Madero due to the Aerolineas Argentinas airline strike. Our room was certainly comfortable, and the view of the city was nice. The lobby of the hotel is a cavernous space, and we could hear a flamenco show very plainly in our room on the 7th floor. I thought it was on the expensive side for what we got, but if you like travel with all the creature comforts and familiarity of a hotel in the States, this may be a place you'd like.

My wife and I just finished a five day, four night tour of Buenos Aires. I selected the Hilton BA so I could use my HHonors Points. Regardless of how we stayed at the hotel, it was an excellent experience. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. All of the staff (I encountered) spoke English, so communication was not a problem. For all of your travel plans or dinner reservatons in the city, look no further than Charles, the concierge. He helped secure great dinner locations, and even got us tickets to the soccer game on Sunday. The hotel also offers you a lounge on the 8th floor to enjoy cocktails and snacks from 6-9 pm, and you can even play a game of pool. The rooms are nice, confortable, and spacious. The hotel is not in the middle of town, but instead is located in the newly reclaimed docks area- Puerto Meadero. This area is teeming with bars and restaurants right out the door of the hotel, located along the river. Both sides of the river have places to eat, so it is not a chore to find food. Taxis will easily take you to all of the destinations you want to see, and all for a cheap price, since the exchange rate is outstanding. If you are redeeming Hilton HHonors Points, then this hotel will be a no-brainer. If you are looking at booking a stay here (and want HHonors Points) then this hotel will be a great selection. -SMG

Service is excellent - although slow for US standards. Staff friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. Showers are big with great water pressure.

The problems: Bedding and towels are worn and really need to be replaced. Carpets have stains. The area of Puerto Madero does not have shopping nearby - only places to eat.

More info: If you don't want to speak Spanish - every employee at the Hilton seems to speak English.

Summary: If you get a great rate (around $140 US or less) I would say it is a good choice for a few days only. Otherwise - BA offers way better options.

New modern Hilton hotel (like Hilton Paris Arc de Triomphe). Contemporary rooms, fantastic lounge w/ 3-4 food arrangements throughout the day. Concierge staff knows the city perfectly and are very helpful. Special 8th floor check-in for Gold/Diamond Honors members. Location can't be beat; it's in the newest part of the city (Puerto Madero) - all new restaurants, buildings, great walking. As a Diamond member, we were upgraded to a top-floor suite, w/ an amazing view of the port. Shopping on Florida st. and in the Galleria Pacifico is 10 mins walking. Cabs are cheap (take only from the hotel's cab co.), food is excellent and cheap (don't think we spent more than $50 for 2 for dinner any night).. and Carlos Gardel's tango show is a must. Ask the concierge for the *real* places to buy leather goods (15 mins by cab). As spa (near back of hotel) is under construction, ask for a room near the front of the hotel. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations - as did this wonderful, vibrant city. Must go!
