This Hilton property is one of the best in their line-up. We were pleasantly surprised to be up-graded to a 5 room suite, although I must say that I am a diamond member. The suite was simply gorgeous and included two 50 inch plasma HDTV's, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. We had one and a half bathrooms and etc... We were extremely pleased with the service provided by our concierge's, Pablo and Claudio. They took care of our every wish and recommended exactly the right venue for our tastes when selecting a steak house, tango show, sightseeing locations (and events). The lobby of the hotel is magnificent!!! Better than the Hilton pictures - trust me on this. The room was kept exceptionally clean by the staff, even though most days we didn't leave the room until noon or so. The beds are the Hilton signature beds with the perfect combination of medium soft mattress and bedding stuff. The executive lounge is one of the highlights. Great views from its wall of windows and it has direct access to the roof top swimming pool.

As for location, the hotel is located in Puerto Medero, next to the coastal channel and in a nicer area of BA. There are many things to see and do (including boarding the old but renovated three mast Argentine sailing ship for a tour - all within a few hundred meters of the hotel. Of course, like everyone has said, everything you want to see in the city of BA is only a $5.00 taxi ride away.

We took the typical tours while there and relied on the assistance of a local travel agent ,Sandra, before we left on our trip. We were in BA for10 days. Sandra can be reached at : sandra@buenosairestravelguide.com. I highly recommend you contact her for ideas on what to do while there and for reservations and just general information you might want to know about BA.

Checking in and out of the hotel was a breeze. However, during your stay, be cautions of the phone calls you make locally and long distance. The costs for local calls are outrageous and long distance costs are out of sight. Buy a calling card and/or have the concierge make local calls for you.

After a 4 year absence, I returned to find the Hilton Buenos Aires remains as great as it ever was. Excellent service, reasonable prices (for Argentina), and great rooms. Apart from this, the location is womderful for both business and pleasure, being in Puerto Madero, a beautiful and relaxing waterfont area full of great restaurants and bars.
This is still the place to stay in Buenos Aires!

Into the hands of an International Group Hotel. Welcomed by the queuing ropes at reception, the well presented, if slightly clueless, receptionists and its a full page of paper, credit card imprint and sent off to some room away in the hotel without a guide.
For four days at breakfast the toaster didn't work and despite bringing it to the attention of the restaurant manager on day1 and the duty managers on day 2 & 3 nothing got repaired and no alternative solution was laid on.
Obviously 'maintenace' don't work at the weekend and no-one had the initiative to arrange for the waiters to get toast from the kitchen.
Flat, dead and 'following the rules' is how you would describe the service.
Left with the feeling that I could have been in a hotel anywhere in the world, not in one of its most vibrant, friendly cities. Ideal for the traveller who doesn't like travelling.

I've stayed at many Hilton Hotels, but this is one of the best! Located in Puerto Madero, the home to some of BA's finest restaurants.

Modern hotel with large rooms. Service was well above average. Stay on one of the Executive Floors: Private check-in and check -out on 8th floor, complimentry breakfast and cocktail hour.

Spent a week at the Hilton on business.
Everything was of a very gih standard. Large rooms with nice bathrooms, nice breakfast, fast Internet connection, good business facilities.

Location is also great within the safe and recently popular Puerto Madero area. The famous Cabalas Las Lillas restaurant is a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

Would definitely stay again at the hotel, although I heard there is a 6 star St. Regis hotel being prepared within the next few years two blocks away.
