Just came back from a 3 night stay at the El Presidente Hotel in Buenos Aires. I don't know how this hotel can call itself a 4 star hotel. Maybe 20 years ago it was, but by today's standards it is certainly no more than a 2 star hotel. The hotel is in dire need of a renovation. For example, the furnishings had to be at least 25 years old. The bedspread was faded and the mattresses were old and thin. The carpet was dingy and faded as well. The towels were paper thin and in such short supply that when the maids removed them from the room every day in the morning they never had enough clean ones to replace them. Every evening we had to call the front desk multiple times to get more towels. The air conditioning barely worked even when on the highest settings. The room decor was unimaginative and even somewhat depressing. Although the location is good, I would never return to this hotel or recommmend it.
