“Stylish modern hotel in classic building; good value”

Most hotels in this Spanish-owned chain share the same interior design: stylishly modern, a touch minimalist, yet very comfortable. The NH Jousten is no exception, and is a very successful, chic "rebuild" of a lovely Art Deco building on av. Corrientes in downtown Buenos Aires, next to the Post Office and a few minutes walk from Puerto Madero. Rooms are medium-sized, comfortably furnished, with very good bathrooms and a lot of closet space; they are well-insulated from outside noise. Staff are helpful and efficient throughout. There is a large, airy lobby with a nice bar just adjacent. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor, where an excellent buffet breakfast is served; at other times an a la carte menu is offered, and the restaurant is noted for its excellent dinners (although we didn't dine there in the evening). The Jousten is great value for money. My only reservation about it is the location: during the day it is very convenient, but at night this area of the city can feel comparatively deserted and some may find it a little spooky. Nevertheless, on both occasions on which we stayed there during December (for 4 days), the NH Jousten proved to be an excellent choice.

We spent one week at this NH in late Oct 06 and found it very comfortable. The decor is contemporary, the room was nice and very clean, comfortable bed. The staff was helpful and the location is good, very close to Puerto Madero (great restaurants) and to the shopping in Calle Florida. What I liked the most was the breakfast: a fantastic assortment of pastries, cakes, fruits, hams, cheeses and warm dishes, really really good!
The only problem is that it on a street with a lot of traffic, but we had a room high up and noise was not a problem.

NH is just ok.

I had some potential bed bug issues.

The location is not ideal, taxis are a problem.

The staff is very aloof. But, the breakfast buffet is built into the room price and is nice.

Best perhaps for business folks, not vacationers.

Stay in Palermo !!!!! Trust me.

We stayed here a total of 4 nights. The loby and bar are attractive, with modern furnishings. The front desk, while not effusively friendly, was very efficient and organized. The room we had was on the small side, but nicely furnished. We had a tiny but cute balcony over Av. Corrientes which was also nice. Buffet breakfast was decent. Location was a mixed bag. On the one hand, it was within walking distance of the major tourist sights and Puerto Madera (with all of its bars and restaurants) as well as a subway station, but the neighborhood felt very commercial overall. You will need to get a taxi to go out to Recoleta or Palermo as well.

The NH Jousten was a very friendly place to stay although the locaiton is not great for tourists. We had a nice corner room with many amenities. The staff was very helpful although the front desk clerk is a bit of a sourpuss! We did get accosted by pickpockets outside the hotel in broad daylight. They sprayed some goo on us and made us to think that it was bird excrement. Their trick did not succeed though!
