We stayed here in November 2005 for 8 nights and would stay here again. The room we stayed in is more typical of what you see in Europe: two single beds (not the two doubles or king that are commonplace in Canada or the US). The mattresses were comfortable and bedding was always clean. What I appreciated were the hardwood floors in the room. As I have severe allergies to various pollens, dust mites, etc., I can sometimes develop reactions in carpeted hotel rooms. The bathroom was clean, bright, and spacious and was always clean. The best feature of the hotel was the buffet breakfast. I've stayed at comparable hotels in Europe and have to concede that this breakfast was among the best I've ever seen; great selection, fresh fruits, hot section, etc. The front desk staff were professional but I wouldn't describe them as outwardly friendly. Two computers were available in the front desk area for customer internet use; this was helpful.

Stayed here last year. Although i booked my stay through Expedia, the hotel did not have our reservation. Showed them my printed out itinerary and they quickly set me up. The room was inititally two single beds but they moved me the next night into a large room with a huge bed. Overall very clean, close to the subway, and the staff was very hospitable and friendly.

They have WONDERFUL flan with dulce de leche - order it via room service.

Perfectly fine, but nothing special

I agree with the reviewer from Boston; the Jousten is a perfectly decent place to stay in Buenos Aires but is nothing unique or special. I certainly wouldn't describe it as a luxury hotel. It's part of the Spanish NH chain of hotels, which are about the same: a safe, affordable bet, but nothing special.

The hotel: The Jousten is in a good location, within easy walking distance of all the sights of central BA. There is also a subway station right in front of the hotel. (The "Subte" is safe, efficient, and very cheap, but taxis are also plentiful and inexpensive in BA.) The area around the hotel is not very residential and not so scenic. The restaurants at Puerto Madero are within less than 10 minutes walking distance. There are two computers for internet access in the lobby and the hotel is also equipped with free wi-fi. This is an old hotel that was refurbished, but it already looked a little worn; wear and tear on the carpets, a few scratches on the furniture, etc.

The room: I had a room on the 6th floor facing the street. The room was comfortable and quiet; no problems with the traffic noise outside. The furnishings were comfortable if not luxurious. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked very well.

Overall, a good place to stay while you are sightseeing downtown; then you should move to a different neighborhood like Palermo Soho to try out another side of BA.

We stayed for 10 days plus 2 one night layovers. The hofel is very well located and the staff speaks English. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. I would not call it super fancy but it was very nice, especially for $89 a night plus tax. I will stay there again.

We were overnighting in BA between flights and the NH Jousten was full because of flight problems. The hotel quickly arranged for us to stay with their "better" hotel, the NH City Hotel a few blocks away. They arranged for the room and cab and even sent our stored bag over when we found we had forgotten to retrieve it. The NH City charged us the same rate as the NH Jousten but we honestly like the Jousten better.

When we arrived at the Hotel we were disapppointed to see a flight of stairs between us and the lobby. However, the porter showed his strength by carrying our luggage in one go up the stairs.

The check in staff were friendly and again the porter came to our rescue when he showed us the room we had been booked into and as we were disappointed as the window looked into a internal lightwell he promtly arranged for a better room which overlooked the street. The room although basic was of good quality fitout. There are no facilites in the Hotel. The only meals we had in the restaurant were breakfast and they were basic.

The reception staff were helpful arranging tours for us for the 2 days of our stay.

An added bonus was the free internet use on the 2 computers in the lobby.

The Hotel was well located within walking distance from both the central shopping district and the waterfront restaurant area.
