Don't be fooled by the guides...including wallpaper's and lonely planet. This is a far cry from a 3 or 4 star hotel in any city. Granted, the rooms are modern and neat and clean so that's a 2 star for me. But an ironing board would have been softer than the mattress. And the staff is friendly but indifferent. The final straw for the stay was the fact that the hotel allowed a wedding to be booked in the adjoining tower. The loud, pounding disco music STARTED at 2 am, and banged on the walls and the streets until 630 am. I know this is BA the City that doesn't sleep, but your hotel shouldn't adopt this philosphy! I'd stay out of the Micocentro area altogether if you can help it, and pick one of the other more interesting barios.

I am at this hotel right now and decided to post a review. My company had booked this hotel (in the towers) so I didn't have a choice in the matter. However, I got nervous after reading some of the negative reviews. Now, I've been here for two days and am quite satisfied. The rooms is gorgeous. Service, outstanding and location fine for a business traveller.

Last night I walked to an Italian restaurant called D'Oro and had beef ravioli with mushroom sauce and 2 glasses of wine for less than $20. Afterwards, I walked through a small plaza where people sold some junkie touristy knick-knacks and where I purchased a bunch of fresh cut flowers for about $3.50. There was a newstand open so I purchased some post cards. MANY of the little cafeterias that serve coffee and desert were open until about 10 p.m. I think that if you are in your 20s looking to "club it" all night, perhaps this area wouldn't be your "cup of tea." But for a grown up, I think its perfect.

During the day I walked around the neighborhood looking at some of the beautiful architecture, walked in a little antiques mall and enjoyed the fresh air.

Anyway, I recommend this hotel, the area, and the experience. Fantastic!

The rooms are really nice (and I am used to luxury). It was my second time to BA and was before at the Intercontinental and the Hilton. I think I like this place the combination of nice rooms and good location. If you are into architecture, the Hilton is spectacular, but double the price. At NH city hotel the main city square was just a few feet away. What a unique experience it was to lounge around the pool and see the 31st anniversary protest of the military coup in the square. Plaza de Mayo is truly a living and dynamic space in BA. There are peacful protests at least a couple times a week. The hotel is centrally located within walking distance to the beautiful but crumbling historic district – San Telmo. A couple of things I would improve upon are the fact that there is no dedicated concierge. Also, for god's sake get some proper wine at the bar. This is Argentina! There are only thousands to choose from. I was in room 1019 and it was quite good. But, don't try to get an iron delivered - it took two days for them to do it. Also, my partner said the massage she got was quite awful. It's quite good for a business traveler. The lobby is a good meeting place.

“Very nice”

NH City Hotel

The NH City is a step up in both quality and price from the nearby NH Latino, which I also stayed at (and reviewed on this site). However, both hotels are very good and if either one is not available, the other will suit your needs. We stayed in the new "tower" part of the NH City, which is sleek and modern. The room was very well decorated, with a flatscreen TV, nice bathrobes, great toiletries, and huge windows with great views of the city. The only strange thing was that the bathroom sink was in the actual room, not the bathroom. However, other than being an odd set-up, this wasn't a big deal. The breakfast was very good, as at the NH Latino. I would stay here again. (Tip - If you have the hotel launder clothes for you, tell them to go easy on the fabric softener!)

Rooms are small.... staff is quite umpolite... and to end up, the area has not so many attractions as you may want see.... apart from Plaza de Mayo and government house... nothing more than that..
Try Palermo Soho!!! trendy hotels, nice people, great restaurants...
