As far as location is concerned, Palermo is 'the' place to stay in Buenos Aires and Malabia House is in the heart of the action. The area has wonderful cobbled streets, fantastic boutiques and restaurants and a great art vibe. The Malabia House is a converted convent, so is a beautiful building. As it is only 15 rooms, it has a wonderful homely atmosphere, complimented by the great staff - very friendly and helpful in ensuring you have a great time in their city.
The rooms are decorated in a simple, well thought out manner. We had a very spacious room at the front, with a beautiful balcony overlooking the street - definitely one to request. It should be pointed out that some of the room's bathrooms are located down the corridor. It is solely for that room, but as it is not in the room, it may not suit all travelers. The bathrooms are also very small.
Breakfast is around a communal table, which is a nice opportunity to interact with other guests. There are also complimentary anti pasti in the early evening, which when complimented by a glass of superb Argentinian Malbec is a great start to a night out.
All this makes for a very homely experience and Malabia House is a wonderful base for a visit to this fabulous city.
