We stayed at Malabia House last month and it was a fantastic choice for our last days in Argentina!!
The hotel is cozy, it is an ancient building in the middle of trendy Palermo Soho.
The rooms are nice, the bathrooms are way too small but it's just fine for a couple of days.
Definitely the real value of the place is the staff. Amazing kids , ready to help, especially Romina, she is a go getter, very kind with a perfect english and her restaurant tips were the best ever!!! Martin was really kind as well!!
Highly recommended!!

I am perplexed to read very few comments below on the fact that none of the rooms in this hotel have windows! I don't know about you, but waking up in a pitch black room and having no access to fresh air can be a bit uncomfortable when you travel. This is my main issue with this hotel. The location cannot be more perfect in the middle of Palermo SOHO with amazing shopping and restaurants steps away. Our room (101) was on the main level, across from the kitchen and lobby. It was quite noisy starting at 7 am as breakfasts were being prepared and the first guests had their morning coffees. The room was cute, yet tiny. It was strangely absent of obvious amenities such as kleenex, garbage can. For $200/night, this place seems overpriced for BA. As everyone indicates, the service is very good and staff are always available and attentive. We loved our breakfasts and the lady who makes them tended to all our needs. There are free computers upstairs, and wireless is free throughout. The bed was comfortable, the room was not super clean and the bathroom was tiny and impractical. The tiny window in the bathroom looks directly onto the check in area and cannot be opened. If you stay here, don't stay in rm 101. The lobby is comfortable and relaxing.

For our last three nights in Argentina we decided to spend a little extra money (actually hard to do in Argentina) and stay at this small boutique hotel. It proved to be money very well spent.

The staff was amazing. We were greeted with some Mate tea which we tried for the first time. Before going out to dinner we brought in a bottle of wine and sat downstairs to drink it. Before even asking, the staff brought us cheese, crackers and olives to have with our wine!

The staff all knew my wife and my names and remembered what we were going to do for the day. They made fantastic suggestions of restaurants, shows and events. They even scored us hard to get football tickets!

I would highly recommend you check out this little gem of a hotel.

To start, my husband and I booked our three night stay at the Malabia House on the day we ended up there! We didn't love the hotel (shall remain unnamed since they were kind enough to let us out without penalty) we had planned to stay in, so we called Malabia after hearing good things about it and also knowing how fabulous the location is. We were initially greeted by Lisi, who is staff at Malabia House. Lisi is extraordinary. She was sweet and accommodating to us during this unplanned move to Malabia. Her English was perfect, as was the rest of the staff's too. We only speak limited Spanish, so it helped us a lot. The price was reasonable, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice, and very social in a family style table set-up. The ONLY drawback to the hotel is that the bathrooms are very, very small and that there are windows facing the sometimes noisy hallway. But, for the most part the noise was minimal, especially after 9pm and before 9am. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples visiting Buenos Aires who are on a budget but want a nice, clean, stylish hotel.
