We had a very nice stay at the Americas Towers Hotel. Although it's not grand and elegant, it is a very nice big-city style hotel. The lobby and check-in area have marble floors and light wood panelled walls. There are comfortable chairs and a sofa to sit in.

The hotel staff were friendly, English speaking, and came to our aid one morning when our tour bus didn't show up at the promised time. At our request, the gentleman at the front desk called the tour company to find out what the situation was. The doormen and bellmen were always helpful and friendly.

The room was nicely furnished and very clean. The bathroom had marble floors and walls, and there was plenty of hot water with good pressure.

There's a nice cafe up the street and a place to make phone calls directly across from the hotel.

Location convenient for stores but not as fun as Recoleta if staying for pleasure not business.

Rooms very comfortable with upmarket feel. Bath tub has whirlpool.

Tiny pool on roof deck on 2nd floor (but better than nothing).

Bar and meal area very brightly lit (like a supermarket) discourages use. Breakfast was fine but served in an underground windowless room.

Free internet (2 PCs) for 20mins. Free wireless in lobby but not sure if it was working (I couldn't connect).

Friendly staff.

Seemed to be used by a number of large group tours.

Overall, nothing especially wrong with this business-oriented hotel but there are probably more inspired choices.

The Americas Towers is a very pleasant hotel. On my previous trip to BA I stayed at the appropriately panned Waldorf, but I liked the rooms and the service at the Americas Towers very much. The breakfast was good and the location convenient.
