For the price & location, you can't go wrong. This is a charming hotel to stay in. Centrally located to a lot of restaurants, shopping & attractions. Quiet, clean rooms. Staff are very polite and extremely helpful. Breakfast included in rate and consisted of buffet selection of hot & cold drinks, pastries, cereals, rolls/breads and ham & cheese. Did not try room service, but it looked good! Decent size room, comfortable bed, lots of cupboard space, color tv with a load of channels, desk & chair, good sized clean bathroom, with hair dryer & toiletries supplied. In room safe, free of charge. Smoking rooms available if req. Loved the old fashion lift! Would recommend this hotel to anyone. This single traveller stayed total of 6 days and felt very safe & comfortable at all times and appreciated the friendly, helpful staff and marvellous location.

We were booked at this hotel through a travel agency. Even though I had reviewed it on the internet before arrival, we were pleasantly surprised when it turned out so much better than expected. It's at a great central location; it has a staff that couldn't be more helpful; and it's quite clean. Actually the bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. The daily breakfast, although labeled "continental", is much more than the usual juice, rolls, and coffee.

  • Liked — The location and the friendly, helpful, and positive attitude of the staff.
  • Disliked — Lack of a washcloth (which I understand is typical for Buenos Aires).

I stayed at the Regis for 6 nights during Semana Santa holidays. The location is very convenient: subway, shops (Florida street commercial district only two blocks away, lots of minimarkets, coffee shops, restaurants, etc.),and the entrance of the hotelis on another pedestrianstreet called Lavalle, only meters from Esmeralda street, and in the middle of the "Microcenter" district.
The breakfast was really good, including fruit jelly, marmalade, cheese and ham, famous, dulce de leche, "salty or sweet medialunas" which are a kind of croissant, juice (those days was grapefruit or orange),coffee, tea, chocolate, milk, fruit salad, yoghurt, cake and different breads.
The rooms always clean, clothes and towels were changed all the time; room service very attentive as well as the entire hotel staff. Space is a very important thing when you are travelling with some luggage, and my room was plenty (# 310). Beds were incredible: two 1,40 meters wide beds in a doble twin!!!!!!
The bathroom was spacious, with a bidet, hair dresser, and really clean.
Every member of the staff did their best to help in getting cabs, explain how to get to, opening dorrs when returning shopping, etc.
I would really recommend the Regis when you are travelling to B.A. with your family,or as part of a group,or for business and of course will stay there again. The only thing that they shouldpay attention isto modernize the air conditionig system

We decided on the Regis, after comparing reviews of Buenos Aires hotels, in this price class. At the time
there had only been one for Regis, from the member from St Louis, MO. We can vouch for what he/she said. The hotel is not fancy, but it is clean, the breakfasts are nice, and we appreciated that our room and bathroom were very spacious. The location really is fantastic. We have many fond memories of standing on the small balcony and watching the commotion in the pedestrian street, and, of course, wandering there ourselves. The street is quite noisy until late, but the room is shielded very effectively so that one hardly hears a thing. Two points of note. The facade often shown on the internet for this hotel is at the corner of the pedestrian street, were the ground floor does not belong the hotel. The actual entrance is two stores removed from the corner, next to the music store - just for in case you get confused when arriving there, as we did, intially. Our booking reference said "hot buffet breakfast". Other booking sites say the same thing. This is however not true. It is continental, but quite nice nevertheless, as described by the previous reviewer. I can recommend this hotel for it's large rooms, problem free stay, and great location.

We stayed at the Regis Hotel as part of a very inexpensive package to Buenos Aires so we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The desk clerks and bellmen were very polite and prompt to any questions or services requested. The bellman were always opening the elevator door for guests. Our room was 506 and we had a double closet entryway and our room had a king size bed with memory foam topper and bathroom with bidet and large shower. The room was always cleaned and well kept. The linens were crisp and always smelled clean.
Our package included breakfast which was continental style with toast, bread, jam and butter as well as cold cereal, fresh fruit and very good Cafe con Leche.
The very best part of the hotel is its very central location. The central part of Buenos Aires has intersecting pedestrian streets which are full of shoppers and strollers day and night. But not that noisy because NO cars. This hotel is located on Lavalle pedestrian street just a couple of short blocks to the intersection of Florida pedestrian street. We always felt safe and you could find lots of resturants and stores to keep you busy. We also used the two pedestrian streets as shortcuts to other areas of the city.
