This hotel was very nice and safety seemed to be the first order of every day. There were business suited "guards" in and around the hotel day and night.

The rooms are spacious and very clean. We had several small issues such as not leaving enough towels, there were no wash clothes, sometimes they would provide turn down service and sometimes they wouldn't. Dissapointing for a 5 star hotel.

The hotel charges extra for everything. Internet is about $20.00 US per 24 hours. If you want some ice, it is about $3.00 US for a very small bucket. Laundry and other services are very expensive. Drinks in the bar or on the patio are very expensive.

The elevators in the hotel are very fast and not much waiting time when you need one. We had problems with the electonic keys. We had to have them changed several times during our stay.

The hotel is close to great shopping and restaurants plus the train station is only a couple of blocks away.

Don't wear expensive jewelry or watches. One man in our party lost his $20,000 watch to a professional thief. The rooms have safes in them and I would suggest you use them. Often I carried no wallet but rather one credit card and my picture ID. Not my passport as there is a market for them.

Here's a hint. There is a grocery store about 3 blocks from the hotel called Disco. The room has a small coffee maker in it but the hotel charges about $4.00 US for enough coffee to make a pot. At the grocery store you can buy coffee and filters and make all the coffee you want on the cheap.

All in all, I would stay here again even with the shortcomings.

We spent about 10 days there due to a business trip. We planned 6-7 nigths but we stucked there because the flight company (Air Europa i would not recommend themto anybody).

The lobby is very nice, the people at the front desk are various, some of them are really rude, some of them were very friendly and they made a lot of exceptions when it was needed.

Some pros:

Very nice and big room with a lot of space, a very good king size bed (me and a colleague of mine were renting 1-1 standard room), an always clean bathroom with tube and shower box, all towels were extremely white and again clean.

The garden of the hotel is a really nice one, we arrived at 18th of July which is close to the winter in Buenos Aires but it was quite warm, so we drank 2 coffees, cola etc. in the garden and being after a 24 hours of travel with 13+3 hours of flight we felt refreshed and amazed of the beautiful garden.

Internet was ok at most time but they charged me every day about 15-20 USD/24 hours

Some negatives:

The restaurant was really expensive and after spending kinda 100 bucks we still were hungry so we decided to go out and eat in the local restaurants (there are a lot in the surroundings and can be reach by walk)

The guy at the door every time when we asked for a cab he said we have to wait 15 minutes, so i've just cought a taxi every day in 30-50 seconds in front of the hotel, we didnt understand this

When we checked in we gave our debit card to the guy at the front desk and my colleague's card had a daily limit which was less then the amount of money they wanted to book.
THey said one of the rooms are ready, the other one is still "under cleaning"
After phoninh home to Hungary to the bank and raise the limit the second room immediately "got ready" :)

The checkout process was a bit strange.
All the rooms costs were signed in USD when we booked.
We had USD debit card.
Then they billed in pesos, so when we checked out the guy advised us to pay as much as we can in cash because the rate was 20% better this way then paying via card
Anyways, we payed 15% more because this system then we expected...

Anyways, the people at the bars, room service, restaurant and all facilities in the hotel were really friendly and we enjoyed to have a bit of rest after our daily work/tasks

The Hotel Emperador is located in a convenient area of the city making access to most central parts very easy. The entrance of the hotel sets the standard for the hotel with a large grand and very impressive entrance and lobby area. Within the lobby there is a bar to the right, a large restaurant directly in front of the entrance and a reception, concierge desk tucked away to the left. The staff greeting you are very friendly making you feel instantly welcome. After checking in you are directed to one of the three lifts where you proceed to your room. We had a standard twin room on an upper floor and arrived in our room to find that our suitcases had already arrived before us and had been placed conveniently on the stands. The room itself was unbelievably impressive it consisted of two oversized single beds as well as usual features such as tv with cable etc. The bathroom deserves an individual mention for it's luxury Egyptian cotton towels, marble heated floors and both a marble shower and seperate bath. If like us you find it hard to separate yourself from the luxury of your room the room service menu is extensive, reasonably priced and offers delicious solutions.

The hotel restaurant offers all three meals with a delicious American style breakfast buffet in the morning overlooking the well designed gardens as well as lunch and dinner service. The adjacent bar has an extensive and well chosen selection of drinks, cocktails and wines, champagnes.

On the lower level of the hotel there is a wonderful health club with a large, heated pool as well as a modern gym.

Overall I can't actually think of anything I didn't love about this hotel - in my opinion it is what other hotels should be offering as standard little details such as space, luxury and service. An amazing weeks stay - highly recommended...

If you are looking for a luxurious stay then this is the place for you.
Beautiful hotel five minutes walk from the city centre.
The suites are enormous and beautifully appointed.

Hotel also has a bar and restaurant. Neither of which are above average though. But in this city there is no shortage of good bars and restaurants. For a romantic meal try Piegari, one of the best places in BA. Broccolini is also worth a visit.

  • Liked — The enormous bed!
  • Disliked — The restaurant wasn't as good as it could have been

We spent 2 nights here as part of a large tour group.

It was an oasis to us, having stayed a two disappointing hotels previously.

The rooms were large and very comfortable and luxuriously furnished. Lovely marble bathrooms with bidets and separate showers.

There was no noise from adjoining rooms or traffic, although an accidental fire alarm on the first night nearly gave me a heart attack!

Excellent breakfast buffet, scrambled eggs and croissants to die for!

Well situated to some good restaurants and shopping areas.
